Makaci Scores Huge Double Through Klatt

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Alexandre Reard raised to 1,500 and Andreas Klatt called in the small blind. Franck Makaci was in the big blind and three-bet to 4,300. He got two callers and the three players saw a flop of {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Klatt checked and Makaci continued for 9,000 into a pot of just over 12,000. Reard folded and Klatt check-raised all in for 91,100. After some thought Makaci called and slammed down {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Klatt winced and showed {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

Klatt picked up a pair on the {j-Diamonds} turn but the river was the {6-Spades} and Makaci celebrated his double-up wildly.

Mitchell Busts; Re-Enters

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Andrei Boghean
Andrei Boghean

Both Andre Akkari and James Mitchell walked back into the tournament room with a ticket in the hand and were thus on their second bullet. The elimination of Mitchell on his first attempt came off a duel with big stack Andrei Boghean.

On a three-way turn of {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, Boghean had checked and was the only player to call a bet of Mitchell, creating a pot of around 25,000 to the {4-Clubs} river. Boghean checked and Mitchell moved all in for 14,400, sending Boghean deep into the think tank. Eventually, the clock was called and Boghean was timed down to just one second before he tossed in a single chip for the call.

Mitchell shook his head and turned over the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for the busted nut flush draw, which Boghean had beat with {J-Spades}{9-Spades} for a flush.

Konnikova Missing; Di Giacomo Thriving

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova

The former table of Maria Konnikova reveals an open seat where the PokerStars ambassador used to be and Victoria Coren-Mitchell got moved to the same table to take the nine seat. Just when the two-time EPT champion sat down, Claudio Di Giacomo was involved in a three-way pot to the {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop. Bahram Chobineh had bet 3,100 and Di Giacomo made it 8,900 to go. That forced out the third player in the hand and Chobineh also conceded the pot without any further resistance.

Assorted Post Dinner Counts

Conan and Colpitts Cause Post Dinner Bustouts

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Shortly after coming back from dinner, Johan Guilbert moved all in for his last 7,000 and was called by Arthur Conan in the cutoff.

Johan Guilbert: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Arthur Conan: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The kicker played a vital role as the board ran out {7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades} to eliminate Guilbert, who is expected to re-enter shortly.

Just one hand later the next short stack had to go from the very same table. Jeremy Palvini moved all in for just 3,400 and Jeffrey Colpitts called in the cutoff. Palvini had the {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and was in dire shape against Colpitts, who turned over the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Despite picking some outs on the {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop, the {3-Hearts} turn and {4-Hearts} river were both blanks.

Touil Busts Studer Before Dinner

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Daniel Studer raised to 1,500 and was called by Samuel Touil, Deborah Haddad in the hijack, Hossein Ensan in the cutoff and Dinesh Alt in the big blind. The flop fell {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades} and action checked to Ensan, who bet 3,500. Alt folded, Studer called and Touil then raised to 9,800. That forced out Haddad and Ensan, while Studer called with 5,500 behind.

On the {3-Spades} turn, Studer checked and Touil grabbed into his stack without having bet yet, when Studer suddenly moved all in already. Touil only then bet 5,500 and Studer's all in was confirmed.

Daniel Studer: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Samuel Touil: {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The {9-Clubs} on the river was a blank and Studer was eliminated. "I had king-nine suited," Ensan said in table chat.

Luttke-Grech Rides the Rollercoaster

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Sometimes, hand show up that have such a special rundown, phones are whipped out to capture the moment. Gregory Luttke-Grech just immortalized his latest hand as the board read {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

It was a substantial pot — nearly 70k — and Luttke-Grech's {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} had rollercoaster'd it's way into winning against his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. The latter's Main Event dream ended right on the spot and he made his exit as Luttke-Grech shot some memories.

Makaci Takes from Klatt

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Franck Makaci made it 1,200 to go first to act and picked up three callers including Andreas Klatt in the big blind. On a flop of {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}, Klatt checked and Makaci continued for 2,300, leaving himself with just 10,000 behind. Only Klatt called and the {6-Clubs} on the turn paired the board, Klatt checked once more.

Makaci moved all in and Klatt double-checked his cards before mucking {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades} face up.
