Mrakes Left Short

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Michal Mrakes was one of four players that headed to a {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop and the {J-Spades} on the turn brought a bet of 2,200 by Igor Pihela Jr, which just one player called, Mrakes let go. The {A-Hearts} fell on the river and Pihela Jr made it 7,000 to go out of the small blind, his opponent mucked {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} face up and ranted in French.

The very next hand, Mrakes opened to 800 and Raffele Sorrentino called on the button. A short stack in the big blind moved all in for 6,100 and Mrakes reshoved to force a fold from Sorrentino.

Big blind: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Michal Mrakes: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board came {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and the stack of Mrakes was reduced further.

Sow on a Reentry

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Kalidou Sow
Kalidou Sow

PokerStars Championship Prague and PokerStars Festival London winner Kalidou Sow has bought himself right back in the tournament. After a raise to 700 and a call from Andreas Kaju, Sow made it 2,500 to go with Kaju being the only caller.

On the {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, Sow continued 2,600 and Kaju stuck around. Both players checked the {9-Hearts} on the turn and {K-Diamonds}. Kaju showed {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} for aces and kings, more than enough as Sow mucked.

Brigitte Doubles; Klatt Runs Well; Toma Takes a Seat

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

After a raise and three callers, a short-stacked Thierry Brigitte moved all in for the last 6,500 and was called only by Valon Budima. The latter showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and picked up a straight draw to crack Brigitte's {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, but ultimately the board ran out {J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{A-Spades}{5-Hearts}. "I would have called if he didn't, I had ace-ten suited," table neighbor Gianluca Speranza said in table chat.

One table over is 2017 PokerStars Championship Monte-Carlo runner-up Andreas Klatt and he has enjoyed a decent start into Day 1b after he was never above starting stack the day before. "I doubled up with flush versus set and won a few pots after that," Klatt added while Tsugunari Toma just sat down on his table.

Toma immediately called a raise to 1,100 and headed to a three-way flop of {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. The action checked to Toma and his bet of 2,400 won the pot uncontested.

Eiler Forces Out Sammartino

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

On a {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} board Andreas Eiler checked to Dario Sammartino who bet 2,600. Eiler called and the river was the {4-Hearts}. Eiler checked and Sammartino bet 4,800. Eiler check-raised to 14,000 and Sammartino went into the tank. The clock was called and as the seconds ticked down Sammartino picked up his cards before folding.

The dealer forced Sammartino to turn over {a-}{q-} while Eiler showed the {10-Spades} and took down the pot.

Conan Forces Fold from Hakim

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

EPT regular Jeff Hakim faced a raise to 600 and a call and three-bet to 2,600, which only Arthur Conan as initial raiser called. On the {A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, Hakim continued for 1,500 and Conan called before checking the {5-Diamonds} turn. Conan made it 2,500 to go and was called.

The {3-Spades} river completed the board and Hakim checked once more. Conan moved all in and that sent Hakim in the think tank, eventually the clock was called on him and he folded with one second left on his additional 30 second count down.

Lakhdari Gets Rivered

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

There was an all-in on a flop of {3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} between Omar Lakhdari holding {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a straight, and Stephane Dejean with {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for top set. There were some murmurs at the table at the crazy turn of events, as the turn came the {j-Diamonds}. The river however was the {5-Hearts} and Lakhdari slammed his chip stack down on the table.

Dejean's double was for around 25,000, and Lakhdari was left with 20,000 in chips.

Bleiker Off to a Good Start

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Gary Miller and Sirzat Hissou busted on the first starting day and opted to buy back in for Day 1b, while Paul-Francois Tedeschi, National Championship €1,100 Main Event winner Guillaume Diaz and Patrick Bruel only now jumped in.

Felix Bleiker took on fellow countryman Christophe Panetti and the latter check-called a bet of 4,600 on the {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs} turn with 10,200 behind. Panetti then checked the {K-Diamonds} river and Bleiker simply slid forward 35,000 to push his opponent all in. That was enough to force a fold, as Panetti quickly sent his cards into the muck.
