Lin and Fast Lose Some

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Celina Lin is on a table that also features Jinghan Yan, Georges Hanna, Benny Glaser, and Ivan Deyra. The latter just five-bet shoved into a 4,500 bet and forced a fold.

Right after, Lin defended her big blind and check-called a bet of 1,300 on the {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades} turn. The {10-Clubs} river was checked and Lin showed {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Her opponent had {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and scooped the pot.

A few tables over, Dietrich Fast lost an all in against a short stack when his {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} ended up second-best to {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} as the {k-Spades} appeared on the board.

Sam Higgs also already lost a decent chunk of his stack in the same tournament area.

Accidental Check by Liow

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

On a {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, Seth Fischer and Marcus Liow checked to Maria Ho, who bet 1,000. Fischer called, Liow check-raised to 4,500, Ho called, and Fischer called as well.

On the {9-Clubs} turn, Fischer checked, Liow checked, and Ho checked as well. However, as soon as the {4-Hearts} river was dealt, Liow veered up and indicated he hadn't checked. However, his hand had made a tapping motion, both confirmed by the dealer and other players, and the floor ruled to proceed as normal.

The {4-Hearts} river got checked around as well and Fischer showed {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} to take down the hand.

Margolin Puts Ignatov to the Test

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Timur Margolin kicked off the action with an open to 500. He had two calls behind before facing a three-bet to 2,000 from Pavel Ignatov on the button. Margolin wasn't done betting though and four-bet to 5,300. The other callers moved aside but Ignatov came along to see a flop.

It came down {2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Margolin continued for 3,500, which Ignatov called. On the {8-Hearts} turn, Margolin wasted no time moving all in for 12,500 and Ignatov laid it down. The pot brings Margolin back up to a little over starting stack.

Wheeler Eliminates Ghosen in Flip

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

There was an under-the-gun open to 500 and a flat call from Fadi Ghosen on his left. Jason Wheeler, also in early position, sat to Ghosen's left and raised it up to 2,900, which got quick folds from around the table. Once the initial raiser had passed, Ghosen made a quick all-in for 8,700 and Wheeler called just as fast.

Jason Wheeler: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Fadi Ghosen: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

It was a flip and the {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{a-Hearts} runout favored Wheeler's pocket pair, which sent Ghosen to the rail and Wheeler up near the top of the chip counts.

Bedell Fires Three Times

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

At one of the newest tables to open, Andre Akkari took a seat next to fellow Brazilian Felipe Ramos and the same table also features Scott Wellenbach, Robert Bickley and Tom-Aksel Bedell.

It was Bedell that raised and he picked up calls by Bickley and Ramos in the blinds. Only Ramos check-called a bet on the {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop and checked again the {7-Diamonds} on the turn. Bedell now bet 2,200 into 4,000 and Ramos called. The {10-Diamonds} followed on the river and Ramos check-folded to a bet of 6,000.

Maltez Takes From Weissman; Assorted Counts

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

On a {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Joey Weissman bet 600 and got check-raised by Fabrice Maltez to 1,900. The American called but snap-folded to a 2,500 bet on the {5-Spades} turn.

The field is currently up to 392 entries and more and more familiar names are taking a seat in the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event. Attached is the list of latest assorted counts.

Zhou Chips Up

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Johann Zeitoun raised to 600 and Huijie Zhou made it 1,900 to go, which Jorge Cantos and Zeitoun called. On a flop of {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}, the action checked to Zhou and his bet of 2,100 found two callers.

The {a-Clubs} followed on the turn and again, two checks resulted in another bet of Zhou. This time he made it 7,500 to go and Cantos reluctantly folded. Zeitoun did so as well with the words "nice turn."
