Quaade Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Picking up the action on the {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} turn, Thomas Quaade checked his option out of the small blind on a short-handed table and then called a bet worth 500. The {k-Clubs} fell on the river and Quaade checked once more. His opponent made it 1,700 to go and Quaade reluctantly called to win the pot without showdown as the opponent simply mucked his cards.

First Batch of Notable Entries

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Among the notable early Day 1a entries are former EPT Sochi Main Event champion Uri Gilboa and EPT London runner-up Georgios Karakousis. PokerStars ambassador Ramon Colillas can also be found in the field as well, which has already surpassed more than 100 entries.

Welcome to Day 1a of the 2021 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague €5,300 Main Event. Things will kick off at noon local time and finally give players a shot again at winning an EPT Main Event title since the last one took place in October 2020.

After record-breaking fields in the Eureka Main Event and High Roller, who knows what will happen here. Back in 2019, the last EPT Prague crowned Mikalai Pobal as the champion out of a field of 1,154 players. This earned him the first-place price of $1,118,277 and the beautiful trophy.

Other previous winners include Paul Michealis, Salvatore Bonavena, Arnaud Mattern, Roberto Romanello, Martin Finger, Hossein Ensan, and Jasper Meijer van Putten, while Kalidou Sow claimed the one and only PokerStars Championship Prague title.

Players will get 30,000 in chips in their starting stacks and can enter twice max. Ten levels of 60 minutes each are scheduled for today with a 15-minute break after every two levels and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 6. The late registration period will close at the start of Day 2.

After seeing players like Chris Brewer, Sam Grafton, and Teun Mulder win their titles, who will be the next to lift up the amazing trophy here at King's Casino Prague.
