Di Blasi Leaves Salas With Crumbs

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Zheng Chen raised to 2,600 from early position before Fabio Di Blasi shoved for 27,300 in the hijack. Damian Salas on the button re-shoved, and Chen gave it some thought before folding.

Fabio Di Blasi: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Damian Salas: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Di Blasi's pocket eights won the coin flip to secure the double up and leave the 2020 world champion on a severe short stack.

Quad Aces for Wurtz

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Kasper Wurtz was in the small blind in a heads-up pot against Jeremy Ruebenstrunk in the big blind on a board of {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}.

Wurtz checked and Ruebenstrunk bet 10,000. Wurtz then check-raised to around 25,000. Ruebenstrunk laid it down.

"I don't believe you have it," Wurtz said before revealing the {a-Diamonds} in his hand to be good enough for quads.

Mamouni Scores Knockout In Multi-Way Pot

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Mohamed Mamouni opened the action from middle position to 2,500. Thomas Videll called on the button and Martin Kus decided to move all in from the small blind for 10,100 total. Both Mamouni and Videll made the call.

Both players checked it down on a runout of {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Kus turned over {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for ace-high and Videll revealed {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for king-high, however Mamouni had the winner when he rolled over {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a pair of ducks, enough to scoop the pot and send Kus to the rail.

"Off to re-enter", said Kus as he headed for the registration desk.

Nedelcu Gets Paid With Aces

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Andre Filipe Moreira Marques raised to 2,600 from early position, then called when Gabriel Nedelcu re-raised to 7,500.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and both players checked. Moreira Marques also checked the {2-Spades} turn and Nedelcu bet 11,300.

Moreira Marques called to see the {q-Spades} fall on the river and checked once more. Nedelcu this time came out with a bet of 23,700 and Moreira Marques went into the tank for several minutes.

The Brazilian grabbed a fistful of chips and began twirling them in his fingers as he pondered the decision. He eventually tossed in one blue 5,000 chip to signify a call as Nedelcu opened up {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} to win the pot.

Nacho Barbero took his seat at this table following the last break.

Lucky Threes No Good for Korn

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Faustus Korn raised to 2,500 pre-flop before Deiderik Oostburg moved all in for 23,000. Krzysztof Michalik then shoved for 18,000.

"Lucky threes," Korn said as he called to put both opponents at risk, showing {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Oostburg turned over {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}, while Michalik was ahead with {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

The board ran out {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Michalik's kings stayed in front to secure him the pot, while Oostburg was eliminated.

"If he had ace-king you would've won," tablemate Iaron Lightbourne told Korn after the hand.

"That's what I was hoping for. It was too big of a pot to fold," Korn replied.
