Pavlos Leads Into Hamilton

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Pavlou Pavlos opened to 2,400 from under the gun and Aleksandr Burov called in the hijack before 2022 EPT London champ Ian Hamilton three-bet to 8,500 on the button. Both opponents called.

"Like to see flops, don't you?" commented Hamilton.

Pavlos and Burov checked on the 757 flop and Hamilton continued for 8,000. Only Pavlos called. Pavlos then moved all in for around 17,300 on the 5 turn and Hamilton laid it down.

Two Pair For Kalynych To Double Up

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In the hijack, Valerii Kalynych opened to 2,600. Then on the button, Shahin Jouvireh shoved for 24,100. Kalynych eventually called.

Shahin Jouvireh: A10
Valerii Kalynych: QQ

The flop 796 didn't bring any help for Jouvireh, but the A on the turn gave him top pair to take the lead. He even hit two pair, thanks to the river 10, and doubled up.

Talbot In Shock as Panikos Doubles

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Panagi Panikos stuck in his last 10,000 from the cutoff and Parker Talbot splashed in some chips to call in middle position.

Panagi Panikos: A10
Parker Talbot: J8

The board ran out 23Q2A and Panikos finished with two pair to win the pot and double up right as players headed off on dinner break.

"Wow, that's pretty weird. Usually jack-eight wins," Talbot said.

Tardif Sits Down to a Double

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Patrick Tardif had just registered for the tournament and got his entire stack of 28,500 in the middle from the big blind on his first hand. Tomasz Szcerbinski had him at risk on the button.

"Fair fight," Tardif said heading to the 2J9 flop, which kept him in the lead.

"That's good," he added as the K fell on the turn. "That's okay."

The river came the 7 and Tardif's tens stayed in front to earn him a double up.

"Easy game," a tablemate said.

"I'm not supposed to win these," Tardif replied.
