Pantelic Rivers Vranken

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Marko Pantelic jammed a stack of 28,000 and was called by the bigger-stacked Antoine Vranken.

Marko Pantelic: A7
Antoine Vranken: AK

Pantelic was dominated and got little help from the Q1010 flop or 4 turn. However, the 7 river landed right on time for him to earn an unlikely double through Vranken.

Zeidan Wakes Up With Aces Near the Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Stylianos Christodoulou raised to 10,000 in early position as action folded to Alain Zeidan in the small blind who moved all in for 66,500. Florian Duta gave it some thought but ultimately mucked his big blind, while Christodoulou snap-called.

Alain Zeidan: AA
Stylianos Christodoulou: JJ

Zeidan was a big favorite with his aces to double up as the flop came K3K, followed by the A turn as he made a full house to leave Christodoulou drawing dead. The inconsequential river was the 7 and Zeidan survived.

Jelle Moene is also at this table with a healthy stack of around 400,000.

Baumann Contending For Chip Lead, Shows the Nuts

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Around 120,000 was already in the middle as Gaelle Baumann and Alexander Shelukhin went to the turn on a board of QK96.

Baumann then slid forward a tower of blue 5,000 chips for a bet of 100,000 from the small blind, Shelukhin moved all in, and Baumann snap-called for 365,000.

Shelukhin showed 99 for a set of nines, while Baumann had J10 for the nut straight. Baumann needed to avoid the board pairing on the river to earn the massive pot, and she saw the J fall as she moved into contention for the overall tournament lead with that massive pot.

Christodoulou Runs Into Aces To Soft Bubble

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Stylianos Christodoulou opened to 23,000 in early position with just a few chips behind and Sergei Bagirov called in the cutoff.

Christodoulou checked on the 10710 flop and Bagirov bet to put him all in for 4,000. Christodoulou went in the tank as he eyed the player count and someone called clock before Christodoulou made the call.

Stylianos Christodoulou: 88
Sergei Bagirov: AA

Christodoulou had run into aces and couldn't pull ahead as the board finished out K5 to mark his elimination.

Ushakov, Montois Burst the Bubble

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Tom Vogelsang raised to 12,000 and Evgenii Ushakov called on the button before Alessio Isaia moved all in from the small blind. Vogelsang folded, but Ushakov called for around 50,000 more.

Evgenii Ushakov: K10
Alessio Isaia: A9

The board ran out 76QA4 and Isaia finished with a pair of aces to send Ushakov to the rail short of the money.

At the same time at another table, Julien Montois and Mehmet Derk Deniz were heads-up on a flop of 9JJ with a pile of chips in the middle and Montois with just a single 1,000 chip behind.

Deniz put Montois all in and Montois tanked for several minutes until the clock was called. The countdown had nearly reached zero before he tossed in his last chip.

Julien Montois: AQ
Mehmet Berk Deniz: K9

Montois was trailing Deniz's two pair and found no help on the 65 turn and river as he joined Ushakov as eliminations on the bubble.

Rudolf Domin and Stylianos Christodoulou were also eliminated at other tables, and the remaining 156 players are now in the money.
