Gunchev Gracious in Defeat

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Dauren Zhaparov raised to 40,000 in the cutoff and was called by Timur Kurbanov on the button before Nikola Gunchev three-bet to 165,000 in the big blind.

Zhaparov then moved all in and Kurbanov quickly folded, while Gunchev called for his last 600,000.

Gunchev was poised for a double up with his kings until the A fell on the flop, followed by the 7J as Zhaparov hit top pair. The board ran out 54 and Gunchev was eliminated.

"I hope you win it, man," Gunchev told tablemate Andreas Christoforou as the two exchanged a fist bump after the hand. "I played it well. He played it well," he added.

"You played well," Zhaparov said as he shook Gunchev's hand.

Yalciner Misses the Two Million Mark

Under the gun, Roman Ialovega shoved for 115,000. He was called by Azizjon Rakhimov in the hijack. After a few seconds, Metin Yalciner in the big blind decided to three-bet to 260,000. Immediately, Rakhimov moved all in for 780,000.

Disgusted, Yalciner asked for the count and eventually folded, revealing 1010.

As a spectator, Yalciner saw the dealer fan a board of 7J27Q. He would have won the hand and climbed above 2,000,000 chips if he had called. Instead of that, Ialovega tripled up.

Pudel Brews Calderone

Nils Pudel was all in and at risk for around 250,000 in the small blind against Eros Calderone on the button.

Pudel had his opponent dominated and there would be no chop as the board ran out 549102 to earn him a double as he improved to a flush.

Kaufmann Gets Value From Hamilton

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 4102, Ian Hamilton bet 40,000 from middle position and David Kaufmann called on the button.

The turn came the 9 and Hamilton bet another 85,000. Kaufmann again called as the 7 fell on the river.

Hamilton then checked and Kaufmann went into the massive wall of chips he had before him and put out 300,000. Hamilton quickly called and Kaufmann showed A10 to win the pot.

"You can use my space if you want," Kaufmann's table neighbor Andrei Teodorescu joked as Kaufmann's rapidly increasing stack began taking up a bigger portion of that side of the table.

Brockmann Shoves Into Aces

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Henrik Brockmann moved all in for 210,000 from middle position, Alfred Karam reshoved in the cutoff for 720,000, and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Karam had woken up with aces and left Brockmann at serious risk of elimination heading to the 4422J board. "Good luck, guys," Brockmann said to his tablemates, tapping the felt before making his exit.

Aygun Goes Big on the River

There were a few folds before Mircea Flutur opened the cutoff to 40,000. Aksel Aygun was in the small blind and flat called. The big blind folded and they were off to a flop heads up.

The 346 flop quickly checked through to a 10 turn. Aygun opted to lead this card for a sizing of 40,000. Flutur called.

The 9 landed on the river and after only a moment Aygun led again but for a larger sizing of 135,000. Unfortunately, he could not get anymore action as Flutur folded and Aygun scooped.

Kropmanns Stands Up Prematurely, Finds His Ace

Georgios Vakis raised to 85,000 on the button before Ramon Kropmanns moved all in for 590,000 in the small blind. Vakis turned around to look at the tournament clock and see how many players were remaining before calling.

Kropmanns stood up from his seat and put on his backpack when he saw Vakis' pocket pair. The flop, though, brought 9A4 and Kropmanns hit top pair to take the lead.

The board ran out J7 and Kropmanns doubled up, Vakis slamming his chips on the table in frustration as he paid him off.

Melkisetian Calls Off Against Venckus' Aces

Ara Melkisetian and Eimantas Venckus were heads-up on a board of 5K549 and nearly 300,000 in the pot already when Venckus moved all in from under the gun.

Melkisetian was in the big blind and tanked for a few minutes before calling off his last 340,000. Venckus then showed him AA and Melkisetian instantly mucked his hand and shot out of his seat to make his exit. The dealer retrieved his KQ and showed it to the table before pushing the big pot over to Venckus.

At another table, Tom Vogelsang bet 150,000 from the button on a flop of 459 before Alessio Isaia moved all in from the big blind for 605,000.

Vogelsang asked for a count but mucked before too much time had elapsed.
