Gilmar Lima: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Kannapong Thanarattrakul: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Lima held on to double up, leaving his bounty ticket still up for grabs.

Neymar and Kitai Sent to the Rail

Level 13 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Neymar Jr

Fellow Brazilian Felipe Ketzer was somewhat embarrassed as he apparently had slowrolled football star Neymar with pocket aces to dispatch the striker, who could not improve with pocket fives.

At the same time one table over, Davidi Kitai was spotted on his way to the rail as well. He held a pocket pair in the final encounter with the {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, but it was no good to beat Shimizu Nozomu and his {k-Spades}{6-Clubs} on a board of {k-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

Beresford Goes Bounty Hunting

Level 13 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action folded around to Pavel Plesuv in the small blind who shipped all in for 98,000. Conor Beresford reluctantly called from the big blind hoping to grab one of the bounty tickets that are now in play.

Pavel Plesuv: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Conor Beresford: {q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

The flop came {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Plesuv was still in the lead with ace-high. The {a-Diamonds} on the turn left Beresford drawing dead to the {4-Clubs} on the river.

Battle of the Dutchmen Goes to Mulder

Level 13 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Derk van Luijk
Derk van Luijk

All-in with a short stack soon after the break, Derk van Luijk was all-in in a flip against fellow countryman Teun Mulder.

Derk van Luijk: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Teun Mulder: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} runout improved Mulder to a pair of tens while van Luijk was initially relieved. He had not seen the superior pair of Mulder on the other side of the dealer and table before then realising the bad news. Mulder is the first player to earn a bounty draw and many more are to follow.

Malinov Doubles Through Chidwick

Level 13 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Soon after the players returned from the break, Stephen Chidwick jammed into Atanas Malinov in a battle of the blinds. Malinov called all-in for the 75,000 he had behind.

Atanas Malinov: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Stephen Chidwick: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

The {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop gave Malinov a pair of eights but Chidwick took the lead on the {10-Spades} turn. There was one further twist to the story as the {7-Spades} river improved the Bulgarian to the nut flush for the double.

David Kaye

American David Kaye spoke with PokerNews about his journey from a small-town Michigan poker player to becoming a poker player and PokerStars ambassador.

He also gave insight into the current poker scene in Michigan, and the potential of online poker in the state.
“We know the end goal isn't just two states,” he said. “Two states is great, but this is just the groundwork to get where we really want to be when we have all the states under one umbrella — or as many states as possible.”
