Lodge Gets Some Value Off Conan

Level 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Harry Lodge raised it up on the button and picked up a call by Arthur Conan in the big blind. Following a board of {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Conan check-called bets worth 60,000, 160,000 and 230,000 rather swiftly.

Lodge tabled the {9-Spades}{8-Hearts} for trips eights and Conan flashed the {a-}{j-Spades} for aces and jacks.

"I would have paid by far more," Mehdi Chaoui chimed in.

Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

Following a raise to 85,000 from Mehdi Chaoui in the hijack, Kenny Hallaert moved all in for 590,000 on the button. When action folded back to Chaoui, he called to put Hallaert at risk.

Kenny Hallaert: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Mehdi Chaoui: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Hallaert's ace was dominated, but he did get help with the {10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop which brought him a flush draw.

However, the {4-Diamonds} was no help, nor was the {9-Hearts} river, ending Hallaert's day in 19th place.

Having lost a small portion of his stack against Razvan Belea with a minor kicker problem, Sergei Petrushevskii jammed in the cutoff for around 580,000 soon after. The action folded to Johan Schultz-Pedersen in the big blind, who instantly called.

Sergei Petrushevskii: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Johan Schultz-Pedersen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop gave Petrushevskii a gutshot but he found no help on the {2-Spades} turn and {8-Clubs} river to finish in 20th place for €43,100.

Harry Lodge raised to 80,000 in the hijack and was three-bet to 245,000 by Michael Rodrigues in the small blind.

Michael Rodrigues {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Harry Lodge: {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

The Big Blind is Not Always Kind to Hallaert

Level 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Three hands in a row, Kenny Hallaert raised to 90,000 and what followed was a mixed bag of results.

He was first called by Harry Lodge in the big blind and that led to the {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop, on which Lodge bet 65,000 and Hallaert folded.

One hand later, it was Mathieu Di Meglio who defended his big blind and they headed to the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop. Di Meglio checked and Hallaert bet 75,000 to win the pot.

Up next, Hallaert raised in the hijack to the very same 90,000 and Mehdi Chaoui came along from his big blind. Both checked the {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop and Chaoui check-called the {5-Hearts} turn for 110,000. After the {4-Diamonds} river, Chaoui checked again and Hallaert now bet 225,000.

Chaoui used one time bank and check-raised leaving 60,000 behind in order to force out Hallaert.

Henri Kasper raised to 85,000 with {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} from late position and Peter Jorgne called from the big blind with {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. The flop was {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

Both players checked the flop and {9-Clubs} dropped on the river. Jorgne bet 125,000 and Kasper called.

The river was {10-Diamonds} and Jorgne checked his counterfeit full house. Kasper fired 200,000 and took down the pot without a showdown.

Alex Kulev Eliminated in 22nd Place (€37,450)

Level 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Alex Kulev
Alex Kulev

After a short-stacked Alex Kulev limped his small blind and Razvan Belea checked his big blind, the duo saw a flop of {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Kulev led out for 40,000 and got a call from Belea, leading to the {j-Clubs} turn, which Kulev bet again, this time for 90,000.

Belea made the call once more, and with just 290,000 left in Kulev's stack, the duo saw the {7-Spades} fall on the river.

Kulev stacked up his remaining chips and moved them forward, getting a snap-call from Belea.

Kulev showed {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a failed bluff which had run straight into Belea's {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a flopped full house, eliminating Kulev in 22nd place.

The Stok Market is Rising

Level 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Sven Stok raised it up to 80,000 in the cutoff to pick up calls by Mathieu Di Meglio and Mehdi Chaoui out of the blinds. The trio headed to the {k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop on which both Di Meglio and Chaoui called a bet of 80,000 by Stok.

All three players checked the {3-Hearts} turn and {2-Diamonds} river for Di Meglio to reveal the {j-Spades}{9-Spades}. Chaoui was narrowly ahead of that with the {q-Spades}{4-Spades} but Stok had the best of it with the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

"Would you have called if I bet?" Di Meglio inquired to Stok, who nodded.
