Maugini Fires Turn

Toppi Proietti raised to 300 from middle position, the button called, and Vittorio Maugini called in the big blind.

The flop came J56 and Maugini checked. Proietti bet 600 and the button folded but Maugini check-raised to 1,800. Proietti called. The turn was the 8 and Maugini sized up to 7,000. Proietti folded and Maugini took the pot.

Odeen Wins a Small Pot

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Jerry Odeen opened from middle position to 300. Patrick Clarke called on the button and Joris Ruijs defended his big blind.

The action was checked all the way to the river on a board of 6A68K. After Ruijs checked for the last time, Odeen put out a bet of 1,100 and got two quick folds from his opponents.

Hartigan Talks Player Dynamics and "Holy Shit" Moments as The Big Game on Tour Returns

It's official. After its return in 2023 following a 12-year hiatus, PokerStars has confirmed that The Big Game on Tour is back again this year, with more episodes to be filmed at the NAPT Las Vegas festival.

Ten episodes of the show were filmed last year, with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Maria Ho, Lex Veldhuis and Sam Grafton all taking part. The show features a lucky Loose Cannon who receives $50,000 and has to survive 150 hands playing $50/$100 with a table of poker pros, ambassadors, and celebrities.

PokerNews spoke with Big Game on Tour judge and commentator James Hartigan ahead of the show's return, and he says he's thrilled the show is back.

Full House For EPT Player Party DJ Rivera

There were around 9,000 chips in the pot on a board of 459 when Kiko Rivera — who was the DJ at the EPT Player Party last night — bet 2,000. Shaun Walbridge called, Giancarlo Monti & Andreas Stauss folded, then Takahiro Tsugu made it 10,000. Rivera called, and Walbridge folded.

A Q came on the turn where Tsugu decided to check, and Rivera bet 13,000. Tsugu called almost instantly.

The 4 completed the board and after Tsugu checked, Rivera shoved for 4,200. Tsugu shrugged his shoulders and made the call.

Rivera showed 99 for a full house, and Tsugu revealed JJ before he mucked.

Set No Good for Garsia

Fabio D'annolfo opened 300 in the hijack, and Ivan Garsia defended the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 986, and Garsia check-called a bet of 600.

When the 5 fell on the turn, Garsia check-called another bet of 1,800 from D'annolfo.

The 10 hit the river, and Garsia checked for a final time before D'annolfo fired 2,300. Garsia didn't think too long before tossing in the call.

D'annolfo rolled 97 for a straight, and Garsia tabled 66 for a set as the pot was shipped the other way.

Jordan Cutter raised from the button to 300 was called by Oleg Vasylchenko from the small blind and Simon Wiciak from the big blind.

The action checked to Cutter on the 7A10 flop and he fired a bet of 500. Only Wiciak called.

Wiciak check-folded to a bet of 1,200 from Cutter on the 5 turn.

Yao Takes Pot on River

In a limped pot, Bixi Yao raised to 700 from the big blind and picked up three callers, including Ivan Stankov on the button.

The flop came A48 and Yao bet 1,100. Only Stankov made the call. The turn was the 2 and Yao made it 2,900 to go, which Stankov called again.

The river came the K and Yao bet 4,500. Stankov made the fold and Yao took down the pot.

Vaswani Turns a Flush

Dorian Dizy led out for 1,000 on a flop of 6K4 and got called by Ram Vaswani.

Dizy bet 2,100 upon seeing the 8 turn and was called again by Vaswani.

The 6 fell on the river and Dizy put out another bet, this time for 8,500. Vaswani quickly called and took down the pot with Q10 for a flush. Dizy chose not to show his cards.

Ouali Raises it Away on the River

Three players went to the 984 flop, and Gazmend Zela led for 600 from the small blind into the pot of about 1,200. Joseph Hernon was in the big blind and put in a raise of 2,100 that both Yassin El Ouali under the gun, and Zela called.

The 7 fell on the turn, and once checked to, Hernon continued for 3,000. Ouali and Zela called once again.

When the 10 rolled off on the river, Zela checked and Hernon dropped 5,100 across the line before Ouali put in a raise to 12,000. Zela sighed as he mucked, and Hernon eventually did the same after a short tank.

Helppi Starts the Main Event Strong

With roughly 3,000 in the pot, on a board of 41094, Cheng Zhao checked from the big blind and faced a bet of 2,000 from Juha Helppi in the cutoff. Zhao called.

On the 7 river Zhao checked again to which Helppi fired out a bet of 3,200. Zhao thought it over for around a minute before letting go of his cards and forfeiting the pot to Helppi.
