Jorstad and Mullur Chop

Level 5 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs made it 6,000 to go on the button and Espen Jorstad called out of the small blind. Samuel Mullur also called from the big blind.

All three checked the KQ3 flop to the [jh turn, where Jorstad bet 7,000. Mullur called with a stack of 40,000, and Ponakovs folded.

An A filled out the board and after Jorstad checked, Mullur bet 32,000, leaving just 1,000 behind. Jorstad snap-called.

Mullur then revealed he rivered a straight with 108, and Jorstad tabled K10 for the same straight to chop the pot.

Level 5 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Kayhan Mokri
Kayhan Mokri

Kayhan Mokri raised the button and Pieter Aerts defended his big blind.

Aerts checked the A95 flop. Mokri put out a bet of 4,000. Aerts check-raised to 20,000, and Mokri continued in the form of a call.

A 7 fell on the turn, and Aerts bet 47,000. Mokri thought for a few moments, then slid in the call to see a river.

The Q river caused Aerts to slow down and check. Mokri threw out a bet of 125,000, and Aerts quickly folded.

Ponakovs Gets Richer, Muehloecker Isn't

Level 5 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Thomas Muehloecker
Thomas Muehloecker

Aleksejs Ponakovs is sitting on top of the counts, and just added a few more chips to his stack in a pot against Thomas Muehloecker.

There were around 55,000 in the pot on a J47 flop when Muehloecker checked from the big blind and called a bet of 14,000 from Ponakovs, who was under the gun.

When the 6 hit the turn, Muehloecker checked again with around 90,000 behind, then Ponakovs bet 27,000. After using a time bank, Muehloecker let his cards go.

Continuation-Bets Doing their Job

Level 4 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Teun Mulder made it 5,500 from the cutoff and Aleksejs Ponakovs three-bet the big blind to 22,000. Mulder called.

On the 3JQ flop, Ponakovs bet 17,000 and Mulder quickly folded.

A similar situation happened on the other table when Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 7,000 from under the gun and Phil Ivey called in the next seat. Jason Koon also called in the hijack.

The flop came 278 and Thorel's continuation-bet did the trick as both Ivey & Koon folded.

Punsri Doubles Through Lonis by Slow Playing Aces; Lonis Busts Soon After

Level 4 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Jesse Lonis
Jesse Lonis

Jesse Lonis came in with a raise from the hijack before Punnat Punsri three-bet to 20,000 out of the cutoff. When it folded back to Lonis, he went for the most aggressive option and four-bet to 62,000. Punsri glanced over at Lonis, who was sitting on his direct left, then tossed in the call.

A monotone flop of 459 revealed itself, and Lonis fired out a continuation-bet of 22,000. Punsri just called.

Lonis used up one of his time bank cards on the 7 turn, before shoving for Punsri's 141,000. Punsri quickly called.

Punnat Punsri: AA All in
Jesse Lonis: A10

Punsri had slow-played pocket aces and just needed to dodge a club on the river to double up, as Lonis had a draw to the nut flush.

A clean 6 completed the board, and Punsri won the pot. Lonis was left with around 60,000 chips and was eliminated just a few hands later.

Ivey Drags Another Pot; Jorstad's Stack Dropping

Level 4 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Mikael Thuritz made it 5,500 from under the gun and Phil Ivey three-bet the hijack to 17,000. When it got back to Mulder, he called.

The flop came 577 and Thuritz check-called a bet of 15,000 from Ivey to see the J turn. Thuritz checked again, then folded to the bet of 40,000 from Ivey.

On the other table, Espen Jorstad had made it 6,000 to go on the button and Teun Mulder called from the big blind.

Mulder check-called a bet of 6,500 from Jorstad on the 85A flop and both checked the J turn. When the 7 hit the river, Mulder fired 10,000, which got Jorstad to fold.
