Karlsson Sends Fountoukidis Out the Backdoor

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Kimon Fountoukidis opened to 30,000 from under the gun and Karl Karlsson three-bet to 75,000 in the hijack. When it got back to Fountoukidis, he shoved for 185,000, and Karlsson called.

Karl Karlsson: AQ

Fountoukidis was ahead with his pocket queens and was looking to start building a stack. The flop of J6J kept him in front, but he had to sweat a little when the 9 turn gave Karlsson a flush draw.

That flush draw came in when the 8 hit the river, which meant Fountoukidis was eliminated.

"Now We Got a Game"; Houghton Finds an Ace in Three-Way All In

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
And Kevin Houghton
And Kevin Houghton

Kevin Houghton moved all in yet again, this time for 200,000 in the hijack. Javier Tazon called on the button, while Konstantyn Holskyi reshoved in the big blind. Tazon snap-called.

Javier Tazon: KK

"Come on, give me an ace. Flop 'em dead," Houghton pleaded with the dealer going to the flop, and his wish was granted when the flop came A102. The rest of the board ran out 38 and Houghton tripled up.

"That will do. That will do, boys. Now we got a game," Houghton said. After both opponents paid off Houghton, their remaining stacks were counted down and Tazon's 400,000 had Holskyi covered by just 15,000, sending the Ukrainian to the rail.

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
John Woods
John Woods

John Woods opened to 30,000 from under the gun with AA and Tobias Leknes three-bet to 100,000 on the button holding 99. When it got back to Woods, he four-bet to 275,000. Leknes took some time to think about it and then called.

The flop came Q42 and Woods continued with a bet of 130,000. Leknes peeled one off to see the J hit the turn, where Woods checked. Leknes then fired in a bet of 325,000, and after some time in the tank, Woods folded his pocket aces.

"It Takes a Lot to Kill Me, Fellas"

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

"450,' Kevin Houghton joked as he moved all in for 150,000 from under the gun.

"The first one was bad," Thomas Eychenne said as he peeled his cards in the big blind. Eychenne ended up using a time bank but eventually called to put Houghton at risk.

Thomas Eychenne: A5

The 1066 flop left open the possibility of a chop, while the turn was the 8. The river was the 4 and Houghton's queen-kicker continued to play to earn him a double up.

"It takes a lot to kill me, fellas," Houghton told his tablemates.

Slight Pause

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

With 72 players remaining, tournament officials randomly selected a table to break and happened to pick the TV table.

Play has been paused while another table is selected to go on the main stage.

Lilamand Saved by a Runner-Runner Flush

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Thomas Lilamand jammed for 115,000 from the hijack and he was called by Georgios Karakousis in the cutoff. Oscar Alache on the button raised all-in for 395,000 and Karakousis went into the tank before making the call.

Thomas Lilamand: AK All in
Oscar Alache: AK All in
Georgios Karakousis: A8

A few players seemed surprised to see that Karakousis called with ace-eight, and even more surprised when he hit a pair on 8109.

It seems like he was going to score a double elimination after the Q5 runout was revealed, but Lilamand luckily hit a runner-runner flush to triple up. "I didn't see it, that's a very good surprise," he said while Alache was eliminated.
