Aerts Piles on the Pressure

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pieter Aerts opened to 8,000 on the button, and only Jamil Wakil called from the big blind.

Upon seeing a continuation-bet of 14,000 on a K105 flop, Wakil opted to check-call.

Wakil then chose to take over the betting lead on the 10 turn, placing a bet of 10,000. Aerts called, and the players went to a river.

The 9 completed the board, and saw Wakil slow down, checking to his opponent. Aerts, on the other hand, put his foot back on the accelerator, sliding out a bet of 350,000, enough to cover Wakil's remaining stack.

Wakil took his time, making use of his time extension allowance, and ultimately decided to fold, conceding the pot.

The Little Pair that Could

Level 7 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Alexandros Theologis kicked the action off with a raise to 9,000 on the button. The small blind player got out of the way, but [Removed:607], in the big blind, called.

The two players saw a 4Q9 flop, and when [Removed:608] checked in flow, Theologis continued for 6,000. [Removed:608] then put his plan into action, check-raising to 27,000, which Theologis called.

The A turn slowed down the action, as both players checked. There was no further betting on the 3 river either, and when [Removed:608] revealed his K2, Theologis showed the winning hand in the form of 22.
