Aerts Piles on the Pressure

Level 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pieter Aerts opened to 8,000 on the button, and only Jamil Wakil called from the big blind.

Upon seeing a continuation-bet of 14,000 on a K105 flop, Wakil opted to check-call.

Wakil then chose to take over the betting lead on the 10 turn, placing a bet of 10,000. Aerts called, and the players went to a river.

The 9 completed the board, and saw Wakil slow down, checking to his opponent. Aerts, on the other hand, put his foot back on the accelerator, sliding out a bet of 350,000, enough to cover Wakil's remaining stack.

Wakil took his time, making use of his time extension allowance, and ultimately decided to fold, conceding the pot.
