EPT Malta Offers Packed Off-the-Felt Schedule and Special Charity Tournament

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
EPT Malta
EPT Malta

As the European Poker Tour (EPT) returns to Malta for the first time since 2016, it won’t just be about the cards. Running October 1–12 at Casino Malta, the festival offers players and their guests a full slate of activities designed to make the stop as memorable away from the tables as it is on them.

From beach parties to bowling nights, padel tournaments to wellness sessions, PokerStars has lined up a schedule that lets players mix, mingle and unwind in one of Europe’s most vibrant destinations. And on October 10, the action will also turn to a worthy cause with the addition of a €400 charity tournament supporting the SiGMA Foundation’s school-building projects in Uganda.

Badziakouski Takes Down Five-Bet Pot

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Dejan Kaladjurdjevic raised from the cutoff to 2,500 and met immediate resistance in the form of a Mikita Badziakouski three-bet on the button to 8,000. Kaladjurdjevic responded with a four-bet to 28,000, before seeing yet another raise, as Badziakouski five-bet to 53,000.

Kaladjurdjevic made the call, and the two players went to a K9J flop, in this already bloated pot.

Kaladjurdjevic elected to check-raise to 41,000 after Badziakouski had continued for 20,000. Badziakouski called before both players checked the K turn.

The dealer then added the K to the board. Once Kaladjurdjevic checked, Badziakouski responded by sliding a tower of chips into the middle, enough to cover the stack of Kaladjurdjevic.

Kaladjurdjevic looked pained with the spot he was in, but opted to preserve his remaining chips, returning his cards to the dealer.

Theologis Shoves the River to Take It Down

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Alexandros Theologis opened to 2,500 from the cutoff, and Bernhard Binder responded with a three-bet to 12,500. Theologis made the call to see a flop.

The board came AQ4, and Binder continued for 22,000. Theologis called once more.

On the 4 turn, Binder kept up the pressure with a 50,000 bet, but Theologis stayed in.

When the 8 river hit, Binder slowed down with a check. Theologis moved all in, putting Binder to the test. After a brief pause, Binder decided to fold, and Theologis raked in a healthy pot.

Christopher Nguyen

Christopher Nguyen kicked the action off with a raise to 2,500 from under the gun, and was met with a three-bet by Orpen Kisacikoglu to 10,000 on the button. Nguyen responded with a four-bet to 28,000, which saw Kisacikoglu relinquish his cards.

The very next deal, Kisacikoglu raised on the button to 2,500, and again he faced resistance in the form of a raise from Nguyen in the big blind. This time Nguyen put in a three-bet to 14,000, which Kisacikoglu called.

The dealer revealed a 22Q flop, on which Nguyen's continuation-bet of 10,000 was enough to take it down.

Dejan Kaladjurdjevic opened from the cutoff to 2,500, and Mikita Badziakouski was the only caller on the button.

The flop came 44J, where Kaladjurdjevic check-raised Badziakouski’s 6,000 bet to 21,000. Badziakouski made the call.

Both players checked the 2 turn, but Kaladjurdjevic fired 60,000 on the 3 river. Badziakouski went deep into the tank, using four time bank cards before finally making the call.

Kaladjurdjevic showed KQ for king-high, while Badziakouski revealed 1010 for a pair of tens to scoop a nice pot.

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Juan Pardo kicked things off with a raise to 2,500 from under the gun, which Alexandros Theologis called from the button. Orpen Kisacikoglu then elected to three-bet from the small blind to 12,000, which only Pardo called.

The dealer spread a flop of 933 and when Kisacikoglu continued for 14,000, Pardo chose to return his cards to the dealer, awarding Kisacikoglu the pot.

Wakil Forces a Fold with a Big River Raise

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

From under the gun, Pieter Aerts opened to 2,500 and Jamil Wakil called from the hijack.

The flop came 8A5, and Aerts continued for 2,500. Wakil called once more.

On the K turn, Aerts fired again, this time for 12,500, and Wakil stuck around.

The 2 river brought more action as Aerts went for 25,000, but Wakil responded with a raise to 120,000. That big move was enough to make Aerts fold quickly, sending the pot to Wakil.
