Tomasz Brzezinski

Antoine Berruel jammed from the small blind, covering Tomasz Brzezinski's remaining 755,000 stack.

Brzezinski took a while, before making the call, and the players looked to the board for the runout.

Tomasz Brzezinski: K7All in
Antoine Berruel: K9

Berruel was just ahead of Brzezinski, and things stayed that way on the 5JQ flop.

Things all changed on the 7 turn, and Brzezinski saw the double up after the 6 river was placed.

Lulei Hu bet 150,000 from the button on a flop of 998 and David Sobeski called in the big blind. Jerome Besselievre then raised to 350,000 under the gun, and only Sobeski called.

The turn was the 10 and Sobeski led out for 325,000. Besselievre called, and the Q fell on the river.

Sobeski checked over to Besselievre, who moved all in. "Alright, I call. I think you got me," Sobeski said as he committed his last 600,000, showing 97 for trips. Besselievre, though, turned over JJ for a rivered straight to send him to the rail.

Pedro Marques

The stage was set last December for an epic battle inside the Hilton Prague, and it delivered in every way possible. Six players returned for the final day, and only one walked away a champion. In the end, it was Pedro Marques who outlasted a record-breaking field of 1,458 and toppled the seemingly unstoppable Paul Runcan to claim the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague €5,300 Main Event title.

For Marques, the victory was more than just another tournament win. "It’s an amazing, special feeling. One of the best days of my life, for sure," he said after securing the title and a €963,450 payout following a heads-up deal with Runcan. The Portuguese star, ranked second on his country’s all-time money list, added, "Winning a Main Event is completely different from any of my other wins—it’s a really special moment."
