On a 3♥J♣9♥J♦ turn, Serghei Lisii bet 3,700 from the big blind. Hijack Fation Topalli then raised to 9,7000, and Lisii called. The 2♣ river was quickly checked to showdown, where Lisii tabled A♣J♥ for the winning hand.
Over at another table, Matthew Wantman, under the gun, had bet 14,400 into a pot of 16,000 on the K♣3♣2♠9♥J♠ river. Bogdan Jontulovic in middle position went deep into the tank, eventually calling the clock on himself.
He was given a 30-second countdown but folded before the timer reached zero.
More than 87% of the time, anyone who enters a $5 buy-in Spin & Go tournament online at PokerStars will be playing for a prize pool of either double or three times their buy-in. However, a recent $5 Spin & Go was special because the 240,000x jackpot multiplier was triggered, meaning the trio of entrants was playing for a gargantuan $1.2 million prize pool. The chances of that happening? 0.10 in a million!
PokerStars Spin & Go tournaments are a winner-takes-all when the prize pool multiplier is between 2x and 5x. The top two finishers win a slice of the pie when a 10x is hit, with anything 25x or larger paying out all three entrants.
When "KuCoH" of Belarus, Brazil's "malakaio300," and Denmark's "dillerfar19" bought into a $5 Spin & Go, the prize pool selector stopped on the ultra-rare 240,000x!
With 13,000 in the pot, Ivelin Kolev and Juan Marin arrived on the 6♦4♣2♥8♥9♦ river. After some thought, Kolev dropped in 17,500 from under the gun, sending Marin into the tank.
Some minutes passed before Marin let go of his cards, showing as he mucked J♠J♣.
Andrea Crobu made it 600 from middle position, with Tayfun Rodoplu calling on the button and Barbara Fugivala defending from the big blind.
All three were happy to check the 6♦J♣10♠ flop, and the Q♥ landed on the turn. Fugivala checked again, Crobu bet 900, and only Rodoplu called.
Crobu then fired out an overbet of 8,000 on the board-pairing 6♥ river, and Rodoplu quickly called.
Crobu sheepishly tabled an airball with K♦8♦, while Rodoplu showed K♣9♣ for a straight to take the pot.
Three-way to the 6♦2♥8♦J♦ turn, Thomas Rauhe checked from the small blind to Dan Wilson under the gun. Wilson bet 2,300 into the pot of 7,200, which Shusuke Kamada called in the hijack after taking a second look at his cards.
Rauhe tossed in calling chips as well, prompting the dealer to place the 5♦ on the river. This time, it checked to Kamada. After some thought, he bet 5,500, garnering two quick folds to rake in the chips uncontested.
In a three-way pot, Quan Zhou checked first from the big blind on the 4♠9♠5♥ flop, and Andre Moreira checked behind in middle position. Thomas M'bodj fired for 1,700 on the button, which Zhou called before Moreira check-raised to 6,700. M'bodj got out of the way, but Zhou responded by jamming, covering Moreira.
Moreira had about 14,000 left in his stack and went deep into the tank. Repeatedly counting his stack and visibly torn on how to proceed, he eventually stacked up his chips and slammed them into the middle.
Andre Moreira: A♥8♥
Quan Zhou: 7♠5♠
Zhou was ahead with a pair and a flush draw, and although Moreira paired up on the 8♠ turn, the same card improved Zhou to an unbeatable flush, sealing Moreira's fate.
The 4♥ river was a formality, sending Moreira to the rail while Zhou climbed to almost two starting stacks.
Antonio Santichio raised to 700 in middle position. Jorge De Arruda then three-bet to 2,200 in the cutoff, which Santichio called. Santichio promptly led out with a bet of 1,500 on the 6♠Q♠J♠ flop. De Arruda called, after which the 4♥ turn was checked through.
Santichio re-engaged on the 3♦ river with a bet of 5,000. De Arruda called to showdown, where Santichio announced "nothing" and tabled K♣9♦. De Arruda had a pair with A♣J♦, taking down the pot.
Coming back from the break, Keer Lin was eager to get his 10,900 into the middle preflop, with Romain Locquet looking to send him to the rail.
Keer Lin: 10♣10♥
Romain Locquet: A♣K♥
It was a coin flip, but Lin took a commanding lead after flopping a boat on the 9♥9♦10♦ flop.
The 5♠ turn sealed Lin's double-up, leaving the 3♥ river as a mere formality.
