With a crowd around, Palma remained confident in the face of two kings, and he was right to do so after the A♦Q♦8♥J♣A♠ runout gave him trips, allowing him to double up and keep his seat in the tournament.
Bharath Janardhan raised to 6,000 from middle position and Aaron Gao called in the cutoff.
Janardhan put out a continuation-bet of 5,500 on the A♠2♥6♣ flop, which Gao called.
The 3♣ turn checked through before the king rolled off on the river. Janardhan fired for 13,000, which proved enough to get Gao to fold.
In a single-raised pot to the Q♥2♠8♦ flop, Petros Karadimos checked from the big blind to Dario Talio under the gun. Talio tossed in a continuation-bet of 8,000, which Karadimos raised to 22,000.
Talio called to the A♣ turn, where Karadimos sized up to 35,000. Talio flicked in more calling chips, seeing his opponent move all in on the 7♥ river.
Talio's stack of 80,000 was covered, and he spent one time bank before folding 9♥9♦ face up.
Brandon Sheils raised to 6,500 on the button, and Tal Herzog defended his big blind.
Both players checked on the connected, monotone 10♥7♥9♥ flop, but when Herzog checked again on the 2♥ turn, Sheils bet 3,500. That was enough to take the pot, as Herzog folded.
The very next shuffle, Sheils raised to 6,000 in the cutoff. After each of the players behind him folded, he showed his K♥K♦ before adding the blinds to his stack.
Alessandro Signoriello got his 25,000 or so chips into the middle, with Marius Kudzmanas trying to send him home.

Signoriello was already out of his seat before seeing that he improved to a pair of jacks on the 3♥J♦4♠ flop.
That didn't stop Signoriello's stride as he continued to pack his things, perhaps prompting the A♠ turn to give Kudzmanas the lead with a higher pair.
The 10♦ river was no help, and Signoriello became another Main Event Day 2 casualty.
Xiaosheng Zheng raised to 7,500 from middle position, which only Ioannis Oikonomidis called in the big blind.
Oikonomidis proceeded with a check-call on the 5♠6♠8♠ flop, when Zheng bet 5,500, and the 5♥ turn was checked through.
The A♦ completed the board, and Oikonomidis check-called again, this time when Zheng bet 20,500.
Oikonomidis tabled A♠10♣, but it was no good versus the A♥6♦ of Zheng.
