Brandon Schaefer Eliminated by Casper Hansen

Casper Hansen
Casper Hansen
From the small blind, Schaefer passed the first action to Casper Hansen with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Hansen then tossed seven blue 1,000 chips into the middle and the action was back on Schaefer.

"I'm all in," Schaefer announced and Hansen called instantly, revealing the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Schaefer was drawing slim, tabling {J-Spades}{2-Spades} and needed one of the two remaining jacks in the deck to stay alive.

The river brought the {5-Spades} and the end for Schaefer. "I didn't think he would check that hand (on the flop)," Schaefer said as he wished everyone luck and exited the tournament area.

The hand volted Hansen to the top of the leaderboard, with approximately 140,000 in chips.

"The Sligo Trick" Works For Paddy O'Connor

Paddy O'Connor
Paddy O'Connor
Sligo native Paddy O'Connor raises on the button and is re-raised by Guillaume de la Gorce from the small blind. Paddy shoves in the rest of his chips which is 20,000 more to Guillaume. Paddy was motionless and unreadable whilst the dealer counted out his chips, all the time Guillaume staring at him intently trying to pick up somekind of tell.

Eventually Guillaume opted to fold and as the chips were pushed towards Paddy, Liam Flood commented "The old Sligo trick, works every time.."

Table Talk

Noah Boeken and Annette Obrestad have been sitting on either side of the dealer on table seven since the start of the day. Neither seems to want to play a pot against the other. A recent hand saw action fold around to Annette in the small blind and as she reached for chips to stack up a raise, the following conversation ensued:

Noah: "You don't want to do that . . . raising to 35 . . . 38k. I've been picking up hands."

Noah examined his cards and folded 10-7 offsuit face-up on the table.

"I'm not messing with you," said Annette, revealing A-K offsuit.

"I'm just not getting in your way," Noah said with a smile.

"I'm scared of you," Annette replied.

The two may not have to deal with each other much longer, as their table is currently playing six-handed and may be broken soon.
