Redden Makes Correct Call

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Aidan Redden and Jan Verbraeken had created a pot of 33,000 chips preflop when they saw a flop of 6QK appear. Both players checked and did so too on the 3 turn.

The 4 river then completed the board and Vebraeken decided to bet 15,000 chips. Redden sighed and talked to himself for a while before slamming in a call.

Verbraeken showed A3 for bottom pair, which was no good against the 99 of Redden, who shipped the pot and broke the 100,000-chip mark.

Juan Diaz-Caneja is also seated at this table, playing a big stack of 202,000 chips.

Holmes Chips Up More

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Arriving on a turn of 4J54, Rory Ryan bet 6,500 from the big blind into a pot of 31,000. John Holmes was his opponent, in middle position, and he shook his head a few times before putting in the call.

The 2 river then completed the board, and Ryan fired another bet, of 12,000 chips this time. Holmes tanked for another minute or so before tossing in a calling chip.

Ryan showed K5 for two pair, fives and fours, but Holmes had that beat with his 99 for a higher two pair. He scooped up another pot, ending up with a stack worth over three starting stacks.

Parsons Doubles Short Stack

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Tom Parsons
Tom Parsons

Katie Harrington had open-raised from under the gun before Tom Parsons went all in for 12,800 from the cutoff. The action folded back to Harrington, who made the call to pur Parsons at risk.

Tom Parsons: AK
Katie Harrington: 1010

The 496 flop gave Parsons no help, but the 4 turn brought him a flush draw. The K river did not complete his flush, but he still won the pot by pairing his king.

He raked in the chips but was still left with less than 20 big blinds in the final level of reentry.
