Bello Has to Sweat the Bubble

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Michael Brinkenhoff raised to 6,500 in the hijack and Michael Gathy called in the cutoff. Elvyn Bello then moved all in for 19,000 in the big blind, and only Gathy called.

Elvyn Bello: QQ
Michael Gathy: 98

Bello was ahead with his queens as the flop came J9J, but Gathy picked up a flush draw on the 4 turn.

"Always a sweat," Bello said, standing up from his chair to await the river, which came a harmless 3 to earn him a double up on the bubble.

Big Stacks Battle in the Blinds

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The action folded to Peter Mugar in the small blind who just limped in. Cherish Andrews raised to 12,000 in the big blind and Mugar limp-raised to 36,000. Andrews called and the dealer spread the flop of 1063.

Mugar led out with a bet of 25,000 and Andrews called to see the 6 on the turn. Mugar counted out another bet of 40,000 and Andrews stuck around for the Q on the river. Mugar slid out one more bet of 120,000 and Andrews went into the tank for over two minutes before letting her hand go.

Baldwin Bombs the River on Kornuth

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Chance Kornuth bet 8,500 from early position on a flop of 273 before Eric Baldwin raised to 25,500 in the small blind. Kornuth called and the 4 fell on the turn.

Baldwin then bet 22,000, and Kornuth again called. The river was the 7 and Baldwin bet another 120,000.

By this point, this table was the only one with action still going on, and several players from neighboring tables crowded around to watch as Kornuth went into the tank. He took a minute before flicking away his cards, surrendering the pot to Baldwin.

Smith Busts Chu, Hand-For-Hand Begins

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Chi-Jen Chu was already all in from middle position on a short stack as Dan Smith and Christopher Barnes saw the turn on a board of 6468. Smith then bet 15,000 from under the gun, and Barnes folded in the hijack.

Chu showed A10, but he was left looking only for an ace to stay alive as Smith showed 1010. The river was the 2 and Chu was sent to the rail.

With 112 players remaining, action is going hand-for-hand until there is one more elimination.

Pittard Runs Into Shorr's Aces; Lonis Puts in a Massive Shove on Albrinck

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Shannon Shorr
Shannon Shorr

With around 60,000 in the pot on a board of 542, Shannon Shorr bet 14,000 from the button and Jeremy Ausmus called in middle position, as did Melanie Pittard in the cutoff.

Action checked to Shorr again on the 6 turn, and he bet another 14,000. Ausmus folded this time, but Pittard moved all in for 31,000 and Shorr snap-called.

Pittard showed 88, but Shorr had AA and scored the knockout once the 6 completed the board on the river.

At the same time on another table, a big pot was brewing between Brad Albrinck and Jesse Lonis as they went to the turn on a board of 510AK. Lonis then bet 60,000 from the cutoff, and Albrinck called in early position.

The river was the 2 and Lonis moved all in. Albrinck had around 220,000 remaining and tanked for a few minutes before folding.

"Ten of diamonds!" Matthew Salsberg said to Lonis as the rest of the table implored him to show, but Lonis simply flashed a smile and returned his cards face down.

Lemarquand Flops the Best Pair

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Diane Zimmerman raised to 7,000 on the button and was called by Matthew Perez in the small blind. Erik Lemarquand pushed all in for 73,000 out of the big blind and only Zimmerman called.

Erik Lemarquand: KQAll in
Diane Zimmerman: A10

The flop came K104 to give each player a pair but it was Lemarquand who had the better of the two. The 9 on the turn and the 3 on the river changed nothing and Lemarquand staved off elimination.

Tricarico Picks the Wrong Option

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A completed board of AJ762 was spread across the felt with nearly 100,000 chips in the pot. Alexandro Tricarico checked to Carl Shaw on his left who announced all in. Tricarico was put to the test for his remaining 80,000 chips and went into the tank.

"I really don't know what to do," Tricarico said after a couple of minutes. "At least I don't think I can make a mistake."

Tricarico spent some more time deciding what to do and eventually dropped a chip into the pot. Shaw flipped over AJ for two pair which was good enough to eliminate Tricarico with AQ.
