Nashar Sidelined by Byrraju

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Hassan Nashar
Hassan Nashar

A big pot was brewing between Hassan Nashar and Rahul Byrraju on a board of 1065A with around 600,000 in the pot.

Nashar fired 175,000 and Byrraju shoved, and after some time, Nashar called off his remaining stack of around 200,000.

Hassan Nashar: A2 All in
Rahul Byrraju: 1010

Nashar was drawing dead and was already on his feet before the K fell on the river. With that pot, Byrraju storms up the counts and is contesting the chip lead.

Lin Doubles Through Buldygin

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Viacheslav Buldygin made it 90,000 from the cutoff before Ren Lin shoved for 265,000 out of the big blind. Buldygin asked for a count and then made the call to put Lin at risk.

Ren Lin: AQ All in
Viacheslav Buldygin: A9

Lin had the better kicker and looked poised to double up through Buldygin. But the 958 flop was a disaster for Lin as Buldygin took a commanding lead by pairing his nine.

A 3 turn meant only a queen on the river could save Lin from elimination. A Q peeled off on the river, and Lin jumped out of his chair in celebration while shouting, "Lady Gaga!".

Tian Finds an Ace

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

"Dafishh" in the small blind and Hao Tian in the big blind got the chips in preflop, with the latter at risk for his stack of 555,000.

Hao Tian: A5 All in
"Dafishh": 77

Tian was the favorite to hit the rail, but paired his ace on the 10A6 flop to take a big lead. A J on the turn removed any possibility of a chop, which meant "Dafishh" had one shot at finding a seven.

No seven arrived on the 2 river, and Tian was pushed the pot, while "Dafishh" was left with around 160,000 in his stack.

Wakil Moves from the Bottom

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Jamil Wakil
Jamil Wakil

Jamil Wakil stuck his stack of 105,000 into the middle from early position and got some protection from Pieter Aerts, who moved in over the top from the button.

Jamil Wakil: A8 All in
Pieter Aerts: K10

Wakil started the day at the bottom of the pack, so he had found a spot early to try and spin up his stack.

The 8QA flop was great for Wakil as he flopped two pair. The A turn filled Wakil up, and left Aerts with just one out in the deck to hit a royal flush. It didn't come as the 2 rolled off and Wakil doubled through Aerts.

Zubov's Day Ends Quickly

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Aleksandr Zubov came into Day 2 with just four big blinds, and couldn't spin anything up as he found himself all-in from the big blind against Aliaksei Boika, who was in the small blind.

Aleksandr Zubov: Q4 All in
Aliaksei Boika: JJ

Zubov needed a queen, but the 52K82 runout didn't offer any assistance, which made him the first casualty of the day.
