Grinder Gets Run Down By Overcards

The Grinder
The Grinder
From middle position, Bruno Mignini opened with a raise to 3,700. Michael Mizrachi was in the cutoff seat, and he made the call. The two men went heads up to a flop that revealed {2-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {4-Spades}. Mignini checked, and The Grinder put out a small bet of 1,500, drawing a check-raise to 4,000. Grinder called.

Fourth street brought the {10-Clubs}, and Mignini kept the heat on with a bet of 9,000. Mizrachi calmly plucked four T5,000 off his stack and put in a raise to 20,000. Mignini called.

The last card off the deck was the {Q-Diamonds}, and Mignini passed. Mizrachi grabbed 30,000 chips and put them into the pot. Surprisingly, Mignini check-raised for the second time, this time moving all in for a total of 42,100. Grinder called, and he watched as Mignini tabled the stone cold nuts: {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}. Mizrachi shook his head in disappointment as he twirled his cards in the air, flashing the {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}. He dropped 70,000 chips in that pot, and he now sits on about 125,000.

Gus Hansen, Tight Player

Gus Hansen raised up to 6,600 from second position when a player to his right limped. Then a player in middle position reraised to 18,000 making all players fold back around to Hansen. He went into the tank, fiddling with his chips. He then looked back at his cards and said "Nope, they still haven't changed" and he folded pocket jacks face-up.

Drinking Buddies

Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen has a big ice bucket next to him full with beers and waters. It was apparently put next to him at the request of Michael Mizrachi. The waters remain untouched but Nguyen and Mizrachi are starting the party early and tucking into the beers.

Double Dip for Dymling

We picked up a hand on the turn between Thierry Senterre and Niclas Dymling. The board read {9-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {9-Spades} and the {K-Spades} hit the turn. Dymling put out a bet of 16,000, which Senterre quickly called. The river was the {Q-Hearts} and Dymling moved all in. Very quickly, Senterre called, and turned over {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts}. It was no good though; Dymling tabled {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}, drawing a big sigh from Senterre, as he shipped the majority of his chips across the table.

Only One Move

Erica Schoenberg
Erica Schoenberg
When a player has only ten thousand in chips at this stage they only have one move.....all-in.

This is exactly what Erica Schoenberg did when a player raised to 3,100 in front of her. Unfortunately for her, he was holding {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} and made the call. Schoenberg was in deep trouble with {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} and was already getting up to leave when the flop came...

{10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} prompting several of her table mates to call her back. The turn {J-Hearts} and river {7-Clubs} cemented her winning hand.

She's now on 26,000.

Robert Can Grind Too

Robert Mizrachi
Robert Mizrachi
We joined in a hand involving Robert Mizrachi on the flop. There was about 30,000 in the pot, and the board read {3-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}. Xuan Tran and Michel Carvin checked, and Mizrachi bet out 5 of the big peach chips, totaling 25,000. Tran announced, "All in," having both of his opponents covered. Carvin ducked out, but Mizrachi shrugged and made the all-in call for his last 61,100.

Tran: {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}
Mizrachi: {6-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}

Tran was in the lead but had to fade a ton of outs to knock out the pro. Fortune found Mizrachi as the {6-Spades} dropped on the turn, giving him triple sixes and vaulting him into the lead. The {K-Clubs} on the river did nothing for Tran, and he dropped a big chunk of his stack.

After dragging down that pot, Robert Mizrachi now sits with about 150,000 in chips and is moving his way towards the top of the leader board.
