Players are now on a 40-minute dinner break. Players can still late-register for the tournament or re-enter until the end of the break, provided they haven't already done so.
There will be six more levels of play when players return from break before the surviving players bag and tag their chips.
John O'Reilly was just one of the day's latest casualties. With the pot already around 8,000 chips on the flop, O'Reilly led out for 5,550. A player to his left tanked and folded before Thomas Gallagher quickly declared himself all in for over 30,000, which had O'Reilly's stack of around 15,000 chips covered.
O'Reilly called with and began to get out of his seat when he saw that he was well behind Gallagher's for a set. O'Reilly's fate was sealed and he hit the rail after the appeared on the turn and the completed the board on the river.
So far 40 out of 165 entrants that have played online Day 1s at partypoker have qualified to Day 2 on Sept. 9. This number of players qualifying to Day 2 online will grow with the final opening day taking place in just 3 minutes at 9 p.m. local time.
Running at the same time is the final online satellite which for a $55 buy-in guarantees at least 25 Main Event seats.
There are a few big stacks around the room, however, none bigger than that of John Conroy's stack of 70,000.
In a recent hand, he led out on the river for 5,550 on a three-diamond jack-high board holding for the nut flush and got a call from Keith McIerny, who quickly mucked his hand when he saw Conroy's.
Conroy speculated that McIerny was holding ace-jack for top pair. McIerny shook his head no and while laughing said, "You don't want to know what I had."
Lithuania's Lukas Siusa, who qualified for the tournament via a live satellite, got it all in preflop with pocket kings against fellow live satellite qualifier Patricia O'Sullivan from Ireland, who held ace-jack.
An ace appeared on the flop to give O'Sullivan the lead in the hand. Siusa was eliminated after his hand was unable to improve on the turn and river.
Two Irish players were eliminated around the same time on other tables. They were live satellite qualifier Deirmaid Butler and online satellite qualifier Paul Purcell.
