Negreanu Out on First Bullet

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu lost all but a few chips to the flopped set of deuces of Upeshka De Silva and ended up all in shortly after with {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} against the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} of Antonio Saez. The board came {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Negreanu was drawing dead on the turn.

"I will be back," Negreanu said and will soon return for the second bullet of the day.

Runner-Runner Double for Li

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

The PokerStars Blog team caught a big double for Yan Li at the expense of Frank Ditz and it seemed somewhat bizarre of a run out, as Li had been all in with {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} versus {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} on a {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop for a quite hefty 60,000. To make things even worse, Li got there thanks to the {10-Diamonds} turn and {8-Spades} river to make an unlikely back door straight.

Ditz explained after the hand that it had been a three-bet pot, after which he raised the flop from 5,000 to 12,000 with his top pair. Li shipped it in and got a magic result.

An (Extra)Ordinary Table

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Besides Joao Barbosa, who won a big pot against Joao Vieira earlier, it was Steffen Sontheimer that chipped up the most. Plenty of other notables are on the table including Sosia Jiang, Jake Cody, Paul Newey and one of the open seats was filled by Sean Winter. It was Winter that raised to 1,200 and Sontheimer in the big blind three-bet to 4,800, Winter called.

Sontheimer continued for 3,500 on the {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop and that forced a fold.

"He keeps sucking out, you can make a story out of that one," Jiang joked and Sontheimer replied "I keep pushing the ladies on the table around."

Hajiyev Springs the Trap

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Maria Ho raised from early position, Rustam Hajiyev called on the button and [Removed:172] jumped in from the big blind. On the {9-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop, Ho continued with 1,600 and both Hajiyev and Kramer came along. All players checked the {2-Diamonds} on the turn.

On the {K-Hearts} river, Kramer led out for 4,800 and Ho called. Hajiyev made it 22,100 on the button, Kramer called after a minute or so and Ho quickly flicked her cards in the muck.

Hajiyev showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the nut flush, Kramer mucked and slipped below the 10bb mark.

Bianchi Takes From Hata

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

With the flop reading {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}, Chase Bianchi in the big blind checked over to Aymon Hata and subsequently check-raised from 1,200 to 4,000. Hata called and the duo headed to the {5-Clubs} turn, which was checked by Bianchi. Hata made it 6,000 to go and received a call.

On the {3-Hearts} river, both players checked and Bianchi turned over {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for two pair, aces and eights. Hata quickly double-checked his cards again and tossed them into the muck.

Bernabeu and Hey Clash in Four-Bet Pot

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Carlos Hey
Carlos Hey

Markus Durnegger was the first player to come in with a raise, but he would end up being just the catalyst for further action. Samuel Bernabeu three-bet to his direct left and Carlos Hey cold-called one seat over.

Another player got involved as Pablo Melogno went for a cold-four from the blinds, getting Durnegger out of the way. Bernabeu peeled as well as Hey.

The {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop prompted a 3,500 continuation bet from Melogno, which got called by Bernabeu. Hey raised it up to 16,500, Melogno folded after long thought, while Bernabeu slid in the extra chips.

On the {2-Hearts} turn, Bernabeu opted to lead for about one-third of his remaining stack, Hey stuck the rest in and Bernabeu called it off for about 20,000 total.

Samuel Bernabeu: {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Carlos Hey: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Bernabeu had turned the flush and Hey, with middle set, was looking for the board to pair. The dealer slapped the {9-Spades} on the felt to do just that and Bernabeu was gone.

Saout No More

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Antoine Saout ended up all in and at risk against Lars Kamphues. The cards and board were almost rushed away and Kamphues had hit trips jacks with the {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} on a board of {Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. The dealer flipped over the cards of Saout once more as one player had asked, and the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} were revealed.

It was already the second bullet of Saout and he won't be returning anymore.
