Santo and Schemion Meet Again

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Ole Schemion and Alexandre Santo already met the previous night when they finished 1st and 4th respectively in the $1,100 PCA National and there was an open seat over on table one right next to Santo. Sure enough, the previous table of Schemion broke and he was moved right next to Santo.

While Schemion appeared, former PCA champion Christian Harder check-raised a {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop from 2,500 to 7,400 and forced a fold from Noah Schwartz in the cutoff.

Yu Doubles Through Konnikova

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Ben Yu
Ben Yu

Timo Kamphues opened and Ben Yu called on the button, Maria Konnikova then three-bet to 6,000 in the small blind and that was called only by Yu. On the {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Konnikova made it another 8,000 to go and Yu called before the {8-Spades} turn brought a second barrel worth 13,000. Yu moved all in and Konnikova asked for the chips to be pulled in to see how much more it was to call.

Yu was all in for another 14,800 on top of Konnikova's bet and a reluctant call followed to create the following showdown:

Ben Yu: {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Maria Konnikova: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The {10-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and Yu doubled, sending Konnikova all the way down to half the starting stack.

Sontheimer Doubles Once More

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Juan Martin Pastor
Juan Martin Pastor

The board was already completed and showed {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades} when Steffen Sontheimer in the cutoff checked and faced the shove of table neighbor Juan Martin Pastor on the button. Sontheimer eventually called it off and was shown the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for a bluff gone wrong by Pastor, which he had beat with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Both stacks were counted and Sontheimer doubled for 13,600, which left Pastor with just 1,800. Minutes later, the seat that formerly belonged to Pastor was empty.

Gregg Shuts Down

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Matas Cimbolas opened to 1,100 in middle position, Tony Gregg three-bet to 3,000 in the hijack. Daniel Rezaei cold-called on the button and Cimbolas, short-stacked, opted not to peel.

Gregg and Rezaei checked {2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} down to the river. The Austrian was the one to make a move in the end and flicked a T-5,000 chip in. Gregg, a two-time PCA runner-up, quickly winged his hand into the muck.
