Sontheimer Doubles; Double Knockout for Cikinas

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin

A short-stacked Steffen Sontheimer ended up all in for 12,700 with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and Joao Vieira looked him up with {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. The board came {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Sontheimer doubled, halting the short stack grind of Vieira for now.

Moments later one table over, Matas Cikinas opened first to act and another player called in middle position. Victor Ramdin got his short stack in from the big blind and Cikinas reshoved, the cold-caller also called all in.

Victor Ramdin: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Middle position: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Matas Cikinas: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The board came {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Cikinas sent two opponents to the rail.

Ben Cherif Caught in Dying Seconds

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

There was around 16,000 in the middle and the {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Spades} board was completed. Rachid Ben Cherif was in the small blind and checked to Mike Watson on the button, who bet 9,000. Ben Cherif responded with a check-raise to 30,000 and Watson went deep in the tank.

The clock got called on "SirWatts" and the seconds ticked away. With three seconds left, he reluctantly splashed in the call.

"You win," Ben Cherif instantly said and he rolled over {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for an airball. Watson revealed {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and had the Dutchman covered. Since Ben Cherif also busted yesterday, his PCA Main Event is officially over.

Young Doubles Through Johnson

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Justin Young three-bet all in for the last 8,700 and initial raiser Chris Johnson called.

Young had the superior pocket pair with {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}, as Johnson only held {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}. There was a sweat, however, as Johnson picked up a gutshot on the {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. The {A-Diamonds} turn and {A-Hearts} river brought no upset and Young avoided elimination.

Margets Steals a Spot From Sheaves

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

A raise to 900 by a player in late position was called by Leo Margets in the hijack and Warren Sheaves in the cutoff. Michel Dattani on the button raised to 5,400 and the action folded back to Margets. She gave it some thought and opted to make it 17,000.

Sheaves now carefully counted his remaining stack and folded, as did Dattani.

"You stole my spot again," Sheaves grinned over to Margets.
