Adams Looks Up Holz's...Bluff?

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Fedor Holz raised it up in middle position and Timothy Adams called from the big blind. The flop came {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Adams check-called a bet from Holz.

The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and Adams checked again. Holz tossed in a bet of 16,000 and Adams check-raised to 52,000 which Holz called. The river was the {10-Hearts} and Adams led out with a bet of 26,500. Holz ripped all in and Adams hesitated before calling off his stack of 162,500.

Holz tabled {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a set of sixes which he presumably turned into a bluff but Adams held {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a queen-high flush to double up.

Martirosian and Badziakouski Tangle Again

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Artur Martirosian opened to 4,000 in early position, and Mikita Badziakouski and Adrian Mateos both called from the blinds.

Badziakouski and Mateos checked on the flop of {3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, and Martirosian bet 3,500. Badziakouski check-raised to 11,000, and Mateos folded while Martirosian called.

The turn brought the {9-Spades}, and Badziakouski checked. Martirosian bet 9,000, and Badziakouski let his 20 seconds wind down before pushing his cards to the muck.

Smith Gets Value from Two Pair

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Dan Smith raised to 2,500 in the cutoff and Christoph Vogelsang three-bet to 14,000 out of the big blind. Smith called and the flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} was spread across the felt. Both players checked and the {k-Clubs} hit the turn.

Vogelsang checked again and Smith tossed in a bet of 18,000. Vogelsang called and the {8-Spades} completed the board. Vogelsang checked for the third time and Smith dropped in a bet of 50,000. Vogelsang looked him up and Smith revealed {k-Spades}{10-Spades} for two pair to win the pot.

Artur Martirosian

Artur Martirosian opened to 2,500 from under the gun and Sam Greenwood called in the hijack before Mikita Badziakouski three-bet to 10,500 on the button. Action folded around to Martirosian and he four-bet to 34,000.

Greenwood got out of the way while Badziakouski five-bet to 65,000. Martirosian used a time bank before eventually six-bet jamming all in.

Badziakouski quickly folded and in the process surrendered a time bank he had used on a previous street.

Ponakovs Continues to Stack Chips

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs opened to 2,500 in early position and was called by Michael Addamo in the cutoff. The dealer fanned the flop of {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Ponakovs continued with a bet of 6,000. Addamo called and the {j-Spades} peeled off on the turn.

Ponakovs fired out another bet of 14,000 and Addamo stuck around to see the {9-Clubs} on the river. Ponakovs sized up a river-bet of 42,000 and Addamo used a time bank before calling. Ponakovs tabled {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for a full house and Addamo sent his cards to the muck.

Badziakouski Takes from Greenwood

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Sam Greenwood opened to 2,500 in middle position and Mikita Badziakouski three-bet to 8,000 from the cutoff. Greenwood called when the action got around.

Greenwood checked on the flop of {8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Badziakouski checked back. Greenwood checked again on the {6-Hearts} turn and Badziakouski bet 10,000. Greenwood called.

Greenwood checked again on the {k-Clubs} river and Badziakouski sat still beneath a pair of white Dior sunglasses before betting 30,000. Greenwood laid it down.

As the hand played out, a security guard walked over from the player snack counter and handed Adrian Mateos a Red Bull.

"I bet that's the first time you've had a Red Bull brought to you by someone with a gun!" laughed Henrik Hecklen.

Adams Bets Out Holz on the River

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Timothy Adams opened to 2,500 in the hijack and Fedor Holz defended from the big blind. The flop came {k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Holz check-called a bet of 2,500 from Adams.

The turn brought the {q-Clubs} which slowed the action as both players checked to the {8-Clubs} on the river. Holz checked once more and Adams flicked in a bet of 10,000. Holz gave it some thought but opted to lay his hand down, sending the pot to Adams.

PN Podcast: Postle Back in Poker & Guest Mori Eskandani Remembers Shares Mirage Stories

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.
