Vogelsang Re-Enters, Grafton Wins a Small Pot

Christoph Vogelsang was the first player eliminated in the PCA Super High Roller and he was also the first one to return with a fresh $100,000 for 250,000 chips. His new seat assignment was on Table 2 where a hand was taking place.

Ben Heath opened to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Sam Grafton in the hijack and Nick Petrangelo in the big blind. The flop fell {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and the action checked to Grafton who bet 3,000. Petrangelo folded but Heath called to see the {3-Clubs} on the turn.

Both players checked and the {10-Diamonds} paired the board on the river. Two more checks and Grafton tabled {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the winner.

Watson Caught Speeding

Michael Addamo opened to 3,000 on the button and Mike Watson defended out of the big blind.

Watson checked on the flop of {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{9-Spades} and Addamo bet 2,500. Watson check-raised to 10,000 and Addamo called. Watson fired for 9,000 on the {4-Spades} turn and Addamo again called.

The {5-Clubs} river completed the board and Watson checked. Addamo checked back. Watson tabled {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for just king-high and Addamo showed {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} to win the pot with a pair of aces.

Petrangelo Good at Showdown

Dan Smith opened to 2,500 from the cutoff and Nick Petrangelo and Ben Heath both called from the blinds.

Petrangelo and Heath both checked on the {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop and Smith continued for 3,000. Both opponents called.

Petrangelo and Heath checked again on the {2-Diamonds} turn and Smith checked back. Petrangelo and Heath checked again on the {2-Spades} river and Smith checked back. Petrangelo was first to show and tabled {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for a pair of kings to win the pot.

Daniel Dvoress opened to 2,500 in early position and picked up three calls along the way. The flop came {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} and the action checked to Nick Petrangelo who bet 3,000. Ben Heath stepped aside and Dan Smith called from the big blind. Dvoress check-raised to 13,000 and both Petrangelo and Smith called.

The {5-Hearts} paired the board on the turn and Smith checked again. Dvoress dropped in a bet of 15,000 and only Petrangelo called this time. The river was the {j-Clubs} and Dvoress counted out a bet of 27,500. Petrangelo ripped all in for 220,500 and Dvoress wasted little time before calling.

Petrangelo tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a rivered full house while Dvoress was forced to show his {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a smaller full house. Dvoress was left with just 11,000 after the hand and Petrangelo finished him off on the very next hand.

The {j-Hearts} river completed the board and Watson led out for 22,000 with less than that in the pot. Addamo called and then mucked when Watson showed {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for trips.

Kaverman Blows Hissou Off a Pot

Byron Kaverman raised it up from the cutoff and Sirzat Hissou re-raised to 8,000 from the small blind. Kaverman called and they went heads-up to a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Hissou continued with a bet of 6,000 and Kaverman called.

The {q-Clubs} landed on the turn and Hissou tossed in another bet of 16,000. Kaverman raised to 48,000 this time and Hissou called. The river was the {6-Clubs} and Hissou checked to Kaverman who announced a bet of 90,000. Hissou burned one of his time banks before ditching his cards to the muck.

Ponakovs Flops Boat to Fatally Wound Vogelsang

Aleksejs Ponakovs opened to 2,500 from under the gun and Christoph Vogelsang three-bet to 7,500 from the next seat. Action folded back to Ponakovs, who four-bet to 20,000. Vogelsang called.

Ponakovs bet 14,000 on the {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{10-Spades} flop and Vogelsang called. Ponakovs then bet 20,000 on the {a-Hearts} turn and Vogelsang raised to 60,000. Ponakovs three-bet to 110,000 and Vogelsang four-bet jammed with around a starting stack. Ponakovs called with a slightly larger stack.

Vogelsang was drawing to just two aces against the flopped full house of Ponakovs and the {8-Clubs} then bricked off on the river to leave Vogelsang short and to earn Ponakovs the first double of the day. Vogelsang wasn't able to spin it up and was seen leaving the tournament area a few hands later.

Holz Picks Off a Grafton Bluff

A completed board of {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} was spread across the table with a little over 90,000 in the middle. Sam Grafton and Fedor Holz were heads-up on the river and Grafton splashed in a bet of 28,000.

Holz dipped into the tank, using one of his time banks while Grafton opted to clean his glasses. After a minute, Holz threw in a single chip to call and Grafton tabled {10-Spades}{8-Spades} for a missed straight draw. Holz turned over {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for top pair and was awarded the pot.
