Rashid Leads the River

Level 2 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

In a heads-up pot on a board of 36810, Samad Rashid bet 7,000 and Nicholas Seward raised to 28,000. Rashid called.

Rashid then led all in for around 70,000 on the 9 river to send Seward deep into the tank. He used multiple time banks before folding.

Brinkenhoff Doubles With Seven-Three Offsuit

Level 2 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Peter Mugar opened to 3,500 from under the gun and Aaron Messmer called in the next seat before Michael Brinkenhoff moved all in in the big blind for 10,500. Mugar folded and Messmer called.

Michael Brinkenhoff: 73 All in
Aaron Messmer: A5

Brinkenhoff took a big lead on the flop of 227 and nothing changed as the runout of 410 earned him a small double.

"Seven-three? Must be his age. Are you 73, sir?" asked Messmer.

"Does It Ever Get Boring?" Back-to-Back Full Houses for Coleman

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
David Coleman
David Coleman

There was another elimination at Table 3 during the first level, this time at the hands of 2024 GPI Player of the Year David Coleman.

On a board of K6K42, Coleman moved all in and was eventually called by heads-up opponent Bryan Swanson. Coleman rolled over K4 for a full house as Swanson's massage was cut short.

According to those at the table, Coleman had another full house earlier in the level.

"Does it ever get boring?" asked Jeremy Becker.

Tice Scores Early Knockout With Set Over Set

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Landon Tice
Landon Tice

It's barely even noon and Landon Tice is already playing for stacks.

In a heads-up pot against between Tice and old school player Doug Lee on a board of 38AJ7, Lee bet 15,000 and Tice raised all in for his starting stack. Lee went in the tank and eventually called.

Tice showed AA for top set as Lee rolled over a worse flopped set with 33.

"You couldn't find a big fold?" table mate Jeremy Becker asked before being chided by David Coleman.

"Nice timing," said Coleman. "Some people have no class."
