Wilson Gets the Better of Elias

Level 2 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Darren Elias
Darren Elias

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading A1089, Darren Elias led out with a bet of 25,000 from the small blind into a pot of around 70,000. Brock Wilson was on the button and jammed all in for 90,500. Elias used one of his time banks before dropping in chips to call.

Darren Elias: AQAll in
Brock Wilson: A10All in

Wilson flopped two pair which left Elias drawing thin with top pair and a straight draw. The river was the 6 and both players had the exact same amount of chips, sending Elias to the registration desk for a second entry.

The Straddle Has Been Deployed!

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The PokerGO team is testing a new feature that allows players to place a live straddle from under the gun voluntarily. It will be in play for the first four levels of the tournament and players wasted little time in getting their degenerate gamble on.

David Coleman placed the live straddle of 2,000 and Jesse Lonis limped in from the small blind. The big blind also tagged along and Coleman checked his option. The flop came A52 and Lonis led out with a min-bet of 1,000. The big blind folded and Coleman called, albeit it took him 10 seconds.

"It's a 1k bet," Lonis pleaded. "It took you 10 seconds."

"That's what we've come to," Coleman responded. "Complaining about me taking 10 seconds."

The turn was the J and Lonis fired in another bet of 4,000. Coleman promptly folded and Lonis raked in the pot.

PokerGO Cup
PokerGO Cup

The first week of the 2026 PokerGO Cup is wrapping up today in Las Vegas at the PokerGO Studio with Event #4: $5,000 Single Day No-Limit Hold'em. The pricepoint of this event should draw a combination of top poker pros along with the next generation of poker talent.

The trio of $5,000 buy-ins is an increase from the $3,000 PokerGO Showcase that kicked off the series at the start of the week. Next week, the buy-ins will be kicked up another notch with multiple $10,000 events and a $15,000 buy-in to close out the series. This one-day event will play down to a winner in the late stages of the night.

The schedule will take a break for the weekend and will return with Event #5: $10,000 NLH on Monday, March 9. The full schedule for the series can be viewed here.

The action is slated to get underway at 12 p.m. PST today with each player receiving 125,000 chips for a starting stack. Those who are registered on time will pay a registration fee of $100, compared to the $500 for latecomers and reentries.

The levels will be 25 minutes in length throughout and late registration will be closed after eight levels, at approximately 4 p.m.

It's already been an exciting week inside the PokerGO Studio with some new winners and some repeat offenders. Kent Stephens kicked things off with a huge victory in Event #1: $3,000 PokerGO Cup Showcase to more than 10x his live earnings. That was followed up by Filipp Kavin, another first-time winner in Event #2: $5,000 Single Day.

Last night, it was a familiar foe in Justin Saliba who defeated James Carroll in Event #3: $5,000 Single Day.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be back on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live coverage throughout the day so stay tuned to find out who will end the first week of the PokerGO Cup in the driver's seat.
