Sam Soverel was all in for around 600,000 against Brock Wilson across the table.
Sam Soverel: K♥K♦
Brock Wilson: A♦5♦
Soverel was in great shape to double and nothing changed on the 2♠2♣Q♥ flop. But the A♥ turn changed things as Wilson pulled ahead and the 10♣ river confirmed Soverel's elimination on the final table bubble.
"I think there's a new sheriff in town," Wilson told Nicholas Seward as he overtook his table chip lead.
Dong Min Suh has been a thorn in Chris Hunichen's side, but that's no longer the case.
After doubling up and chopping with Suh, Hunichen played another pot with the elusive opponent where Suh check-raised on a flop of A♠5♠10♥. Hunichen called and Suh then check-jammed on the 6♣ turn. Hunichen called again.
Dong Min Suh: 10♣8♦
Chris Hunichen: A♣2♣
"Good hand," said Suh.
"Not yet," Hunichen corrected him before the 3♥ river confirmed Suh's elimination in ninth place.
Dong Min Suh was all in from the small blind against Chris Hunichen in the big blind.
Dong Min Suh: 8♦7♦
Chris Hunichen: A♣9♣
The flop landed 9♠10♣3♦ to pair Hunichen's ten while giving Suh a straight draw, and the board finished out 3♥J♠ as Suh made his straight on the river to double alive a few spots off the final table bubble.
Event #2 winner Filipp Khavin was eliminated in tenth place at the hands of Brandon Wilson, who has been running up a stack since being all in on the money bubble.
Sean Winter was left with one chip after a big pot against Nicholas Seward and was forced all in from the small blind.
His nemesis Seward raised and Brock Wilson called in the big blind. Wilson checked on the 10♥2♦6♠ flop and Seward continued for 30,000. Wilson called. Both players then checked on the 7♣ turn.
Wilson checked once more on the 2♥ river and Seward bet 170,000. At the next table, Chris Hunichen open-jammed in the small blind as Brandon Wilson considered calling off for his tournament life in the big blind.
"This is the stupidest spot," he groaned before calling.
Back to the other table, Winter loudly clapped and rubbed his hands together like Mr. Miyagi, but he couldn't work up any magic. Wilson called and tabled 8♣6♣ for a pair of sixes to beat out the Q♥9♥ of Seward and the K♠5♣ of Winter, who was eliminated on the money bubble.
At the next table, Hunichen and Wilson's cards were flipped.
Brandon Wilson: 4♥4♣
Chris Hunichen: Q♠6♠
Wilson, who was already in the money, survived the flip as the board ran out 7♠8♥A♦8♠J♦ to keep his fours ahead.
Brandon Wilson open-jammed in the small blind and Qinghai Pan called with a stack of around 400,000.
It was more than Wilson, who is sitting in the five-seat, thought his opponent in the six seat had in front of him, as he hadn't seen a small pile of pink 25,000 chips to the side of his stack. The floor told Pan to make sure his big chips were visible to everyone and then the cards were flipped.
Qinghai Pan: A♦K♠
Brandon Wilson: J♣7♦
Pan's ace-high stayed ahead for a double as the board ran out 4♣Q♦8♣10♠10♣.
