Delaney is not Adgee's favoruite player right now
Andrew "Adgee" Jeffreys can't be enjoying having Ben "CNT_CRUSHER" Delaney at his table. Delaney has certainly been getting the best of their recent exchanges.
In one hand Delaney opened to 2,200 from middle position with Jeffreys calling from the cut-off.
On a flop of Delaney fired out 3,200 with Jeffreys smooth calling. The turn saw Delaney bet another 7,000 and once again Jeffreys made the call.
The river was the and Delaney reeled off an all in bet for about 20,000. Jeffreys didn't hesitate making the call.
Delaney tabled . "I knew you didn't have an Ace" said Adgee as he flashed his , mucked and shipped the double up to Delaney.
Delaney moved up to 70,000 after that hand. A hand later Delaney took another pot off Adgee at showdown.
God runs like 'Adgee'
Andrew 'Adgee' Jeffreys is continuing his amazing run in the PokerNews Cup series and is now our chipleader as we head towards the final break of the day.
With the flop reading , an unknown opponent moved all in and forced Jeffreys to make a decision that could have cost him big time.
The only problem for the opponent was that Jeffreys snap-called with for the straight, well ahead of his .
The board ran out to send the opponent to the rail and see Jeffreys stack up 124,000 in chips.
"It's an easy game when you flop the nuts," quipped Jeffreys.
Steve Bouya moved all in for 3,325 with Albert Amato making the call. Sherrie Gelberg then moved all in for 4,275. Grant Levy called and Amato called the rest to go the flop.
Amato and Levy checked down the turn and river with Amato rolling over . Gelberg showed her as she got up from the table and both Levy and Bouya mucked.
Bouya and Gelberg head for the rail and we're down to 70 left.
Lisa Walsh & Latisha Wenlock: looking wonderful!
With the untimely departure of Sherrie Gelberg, there are now only two ladies left in today's Day 1a flight - both with the initials L.W.
Latisha Wenlock has progressed mostly unnoticed but she is fighting on, currently sitting on a stack of 31,000. However leading the charge for the fairer sex is Lisa Walsh, who has moved up amongst the chipleaders with 86,000.
So what else could L.W. stand for? Before you say "Lucky Women", remember that luck only plays a small part in this game!
Damm done for the day
If Kenneth Damm wants to repeat his deep run from 2008 in this tournament, he's going to need to do so from the repecharge flight tomorrow.
A short-stacked Damm pushed preflop and Michael Pedley made the call from the big blind with .
The flop spiked the coming . The turn and river would be enough to send Damm off to the rail today.
Levy: feeling much better now
Grant Levy has had an astounding run in these later stages of the tournament, having now worked his way up to 86,000 after taking out another opponent.
With all the money in the middle preflop between Levy and an unknown opponent, Levy rolled up but found himself behind the opponent's .
However the flop of put Levy ahead and he stayed there when the board ran out , , sending the opponent packing.
Wang: a smiling assassin?
Robert Wang has settled in and found his groove, now sitting on 98,000 in chips and applying pressure to his opponents.
Wang popped it up to 2,200 before the flop and an unknown opponent in the big blind made the call, only to then check-tank-fold on the flop of when Wang threw out 30,000.
Normally a quiet and reserved player, Wang has had a lot of fun throughout the tournament today, laughing and having a great time with his tablemates. It seems that by staying positive, the good karma will fall your way!
