Russian film director Nikolay Karman is running up a nice stack, and currently is at 80,000 chips. Karmen has over $238,000 in tournament cashes to his name, which is most likely the most out of any of the 97 entrants in today's field.
Karmen is also married to fellow PokerNews Cup Main Event participant and Russian film producer Anna Yamshchikova, who keeps building up her stack as well on another table.

A ten minute break, the last of the day, was announced. Re-entry is officially close with the tournament officially hosting 98 entrants on Day 1A with 42 currently remaining.
Elena Litvinyuk seems to be having a good time smiling and laughing every time we walk past her table. Her chip stack may have something to do with her mood as she is now at 150,000 and counting.

Late registration ends in 15 minutes when the blinds go up to 800/1,600 with a 200 ante. Day 1A so far has attracted 97 entrants with less than half of them still in the field. We will update the final entry counts on Day 1A once it is announced that late registration is finally closed.
We quickly caught up with Thailand's Wansa Trensch as she was taking a quick breather from the tables. Trensch shared with us despite originally being from Thailand, she is currently living nearby in Germany.
She also shared, "I am not a professional poker player, but I am here having fun."
For someone that doesn't play that often, Trensch is currently holding her own almost doubling her original stack to about 50,000 chips.
