Hermanus van Beek has been witnessed having fun most of the day. He now sits at around 220,000 chips, which we believe is the chip lead at the moment.
Van Beek shared with us, "I don't play many big pots, but I win a lot."
The biggest pot that came to mind for van Beek was when he had and flopped a full house against his opponent's to ship a 40,000 pot. We also just witnessed him win a pot for around 20,000 chips when his beat his opponent's with both players whiffing the board.
Van Beek also shared with us that he heard about the PokerNews Cup from a friend. He shared with us that his friend told him that the PokerNews Cup has a great structure and is one of the best low limit tournaments of the year.
Van Beek also said, "So far, the PokerNews Cup has been just as my friend said it would be." We'll keep an eye out for Van Beek, especially on Day 2 if he bags and tags some chips.

We looked around the poker room, and it seems to be all men left in Day 1C and it is believed that Ceylan Candemir was the last woman standing.
While we don't know what Candemir was holding since she mucked her hand, we can assume she hit a piece of the jack-high board. Her opponent had the nuts on the turn with an ace-high flush, and the river didn't change the fact that his hand was unbeatable.

German poker player and King's Casino regular Psi0Nic has been up and down most of the day. He just shared with us that he was all the way down to 11,000 chips after his pocket tens was no match to his opponent's pocket queens. Lady luck, however, was on his side against pocket queens a little later when he went all-in with pocket threes and spiked his set to double up. He now sits at around 28,000 chips, and is hoping to run it up some before Day 1C is in the books.
