We are almost at 400 entrants in Day 1C. Level 10 is over in 18 minutes, after which there is a 10 minute break. Once the break is over, late-registration will officially be closed and we will disclose the final number of entrants on the day.
If you were following our coverage of the WSOP Circuit King's Casino Main Event a couple of weeks ago, you may remember Germany's Steven Stephan who was seemingly always near the top of the chip counts until near the end of the second to last day.
Stephan is looking to improve on his 22nd place performance in that event for €7,296 in the PokerNews Cup Main Event. He shared with us his start was slow and he is already on his second bullet. He shared he hoped he wouldn't need a third bullet in the turbo Day 1D flight starting in about an hour and a half.

The reigning champion of the Italian Masters of Poker, Germany’s Christoph Merten, is no longer in the list of the players busy with the Main Event.
Martens, who already try to battle for a spot in the Day 2 during yesterday’s Day 1b, was seen leaving the tournament room shortly before the end of the ninth level of play.
Having already fired two bullets in today's Day 1c, his only hope to bring home another title and a share of the €200,000 guaranteed prize pool is to join the last of the four starting flights in the schedule - the turbo Day 1d that is set to begins today at 21:00 CET.

As we enter in the ninth level of play, Concord Million champion Sinisa Teodorovic accomplished the mission to steal his opponents’ chips and grow his stack. With 90,000 in chips, the player now has twice the average stack.
“I am enjoying the tournament, it’s good to be here,” Teodorovic told PokerNews. “I like the combination of a big guarantee and a low buy-in, and the King’s Casino is probably the best poker room in Europe right now. I come here to play every time I can.”

At almost the exact same time, both Thailand's Wansa Trensch and Italy's Janja both busted out of the tournament. We suspect we haven't seen the last of either of them as late registration is still open in this flight and the turbo Day 1D flight starts in just two hours.

Janja has only 15,000 chips and is looking to double up at least once or twice. Janja was all-in, and it looked like she might get a call. Her opponent, however, thought for a moment, let count the chips and then decided but for a fold.
"I was really strong," Janja shared while her girlfriend Elena Litvinyuk, who already made Day 2 via her play in Day 1A watched the action.
