As we walked passed Table 22, a pot was brewing between Ole Schemion (hijack) and Dan Smith (cutoff). The board read and Schemion check-called a bet of 10,000.
The on the river saw Schemion check again. Smith bet 36,000 and Schemion contemplated what to do for quite some time. He wasn't too happy with the spot he was in but eventually called.
Smith showed and Schemion mucked with a look of disgust on his face.
The table they're on seems to be made for tv, as besides Schemion and Smith the table hosts Faraz Jaka, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Celina Lin and Rocco Palumbo. Yet, the feature table has been swapped out for Antonius' table and the one with Schemion and Smith is just in between all the others.

Dermot Blain was one of the most recent casualties after a short-stacked roller coaster day. Adrien Allain, who finished runner up to Jan Bendik at the last ever European Poker Tour Grand Final here in Monte-Carlo last year, is also among the short stacks.
Same applies for Christopher George, who since suffered a big setback, while PokerStars Team Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier doubled.

Ruslan Mityayev just open-shoved for his last 29,100 from early position and the action folded around to Robert Pankowski in the big blind, who checked his cards and then quickly called.
Ruslan Mityayev:
Robert Pankowski:
Mityayev stood up from his seat and saw the board run out . He then mentioned in table chat that the snap-call was rather surprising, and Pankowski was left with just a few big blinds. The same table also features the two big stacks Thiago Crema and Christopher Frank, as well as British poker pro James Mitchell.

There are plenty of chips on the table as Jason Wheeler, Igor Yaroshevskyy and Hannes Speiser are all above average. But Iliodoros Kamatakis tops all of that after just having knocked out Viacheslav Goryachev.
Goryachev raised to 4,000 from under the gun and Kamatakis called in the big blind. On the flop both players checked. Kamatakis then bet the turn for 6,000 and Goryachev raised to 14,000. "How much do you have back? Why do you not call?" Kamatakis called and Goryachev showed his remaining 17,000 behind.
Kamatakis then moved all in and Goryachev called it off.

Ole Schemion's table, the farthest in the room, just broke down. The German wunderkind got moved to a cosy spot between Fatima Moreira de Melo and Dan Smith. With Celina Lin and Faraz Jaka at the same table, the PokerStars live crew will no doubt have their sights set on Table 22.
Schemion hadn't even unracked all his chips yet or he was already playing his first hand. He called a raise from Jerome L'Hostis, but folded to a river bet on .

Jack Salter was first to act and limped under the gun. Igor Kurganov over limped from late position, the small blind completed and big blind Christoph Vogelsang checked his option.
All four of them checked on so the on the turn was seen for free. Action checked to Kurganov and he bet 5,500. The small blind folded, Vogelsang called, Salter folded.
Heads up to the river and Vogelsang checked again. Kurganov pushed for 22,800 and action was on Vogelsang. The German high-roller took a fair amount of time before he eventually called.
"Straight!" Kurganov shouted.
But since it wasn't pineapple and there was no 2-card straight possible, Kurganov quickly admitted he had nothing. Kurganov showed and Vogelsang tabled for the winner.
Salter was sure not to let the bottom-pair call go unnoticed, while Kurganov got up and conversed a bit with Vogelsang about the hand. The Team Pro is out, Vogelsang up to over 160,000.
