Puscatu Eliminated by Anton

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Ionel Anton raised to 1,900 from the cutoff and George Puscatu three-bet all in for 13,500 from the small blind. The big blind folded and Anton called.

Anton: {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Puscatu: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} giving Anton a pair and sending Puscatu to the rail despite the Romanian holding big slick.

Papazian Slips; Georgescu Soars

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Alexandru Papazian raised to 1,800 from under the gun, Ofer Glazer called to his direct left, and Nicolae Calin Georgescu called in late position. The flop was {2-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Papazian continued with 5,000. Glazer folded and Georgescu called.

On the {K-Clubs} turn, Papazian fired a second barrel worth 9,500, which Georgescu called again. Papazian emptied the clip on the {6-Clubs} river, opting for a third bet of 19,900. Georgescu moved all in for 43,000 and Papazian, visibly unhappy, called off the extra chips after thirty seconds of thought.

Triumphantly, Georgescu slammed open {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the nut flush, and Papazian mucked his hand face-down. Per the rules, the Romanian juggernaut was forced to show, and {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} got revealed.

Back in May 2016, when play got heads up in the €25,000 High Roller at the last ever EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo, all the other tournaments in the room had finished.

The duel was between two people who - at the beginning of the tournament - we didn't really recognise by face alone. But when we found out their PokerStars screen names, it all made sense.

Mihai Manole, second on the Romanian all-time money list with $2,4 million in lifetime winnings, has been eliminated from the PokerStars Festival Bucharest Main Event. Manole got it in against Eduard Norel after a preflop raising war for a pot of around 45,000.

Mihai Manole: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Eduard Norel: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The {8-Clubs}{A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Spades} board failed to provide any help to Manole, and he was eliminated.

Dumitrascu Escapes on the River

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Danut Dumitrascu was all in for his last 16,000 on a {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop holding {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. His opponent Yaniv Peretz held {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and Dumitrascu was already saying his goodbyes to the table.

The turn brought the {K-Hearts} and the river the {J-Hearts}, which improved Dumitrascu to two pair on the river to survive.

Stoian Fortuitously Doubles Up

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

A player in middle position raised to 1,500 with the blinds at 300/600 and Daniel Stoian three-bet all in for 9,900 from the small blind. The big blind folded and his opponent called.

Stoian: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Stoian was in trouble, but the four on the {q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts} turn gave him the lead. The {6-Hearts} on the turn also restricted his opponent to just the two remaining jacks in the deck, but the river was the {k-Spades} and Stoian doubled up.
