Ayoub Bests Balinca With Quads

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Erjat Balinca took a small hit to the stack not long ago when he squeezed to 2,600 and folded to a reraise to 6,850.

Soon after he was involved in yet another pot from the small blind, having called a raise to 800 by Jules Ayoub in the cutoff along with one further player. Balinca was the only one to check-call a bet of 2,000 on the {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop and did so again on the {K-Spades} turn for an unknown amount.

The {K-Clubs} river completed the board and Balinca led for 3,200, Ayoub raised to 12,000 and was called to turn over {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for quads.

Hansen Takes from Rebei

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Until the river of a board {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}, there were already 7,500 chips in the middle and Karim Rebei checked in the small blind. His sole opponent Johnny Hansen bet 4,000 from late position and Rebei folded. "Do you want to see one?" Hansen offered and Rebei nodded, he was shown the {2-Clubs} for a straight.

"I had two pair with ace-five," Rebei added. Both players are already up for the day.

Armen Akopjan limped in from the under-the-gun position. Alessandro Crevena raised to 500. Levi Mulders called. Francesco Fama three-bet to 3,000. Akopjan folded. Crevena four-bet to 6,500. Mulders quickly got out of the way. Fama five-bet-shoved and Crevena called with the bigger stack.

Alessandro Crevena: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

Klam Takes a Hit

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Twitch streamer Niklas Ehrenholz hasn't had the best of starts and dropped some chips early on while Do Tran and Johnny Hansen on his table moved up slightly. The same table also features Karim Rebei, Nijat Ramadani and Stephan Klam and the latter two were involved in an interesting hand just now.

Klam raised to 350 and Ramadani three-bet to 1,000 in the small blind, Klam called from the cutoff. On the {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop, Ramadani checked and called a bet of 750 before the duo checked the {K-Clubs} on the turn. After the {K-Diamonds} river, Ramadani bet 2,500 and Klam called.

Ramadani rolled over the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for the ace-high straight and Klam mucked {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the inferior straight.

Holke Hoping for Another Title

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Esad Omerbasic bet 1,200 from the big blind on a {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop and Tom Holke called from the cutoff.

The turn brought them the {4-Diamonds}, Omerbasic now bet 2,000 and Holke called immediately.

The river completed the board with the {J-Diamonds} and Omerbasic bet 3,000 without any hesitation. Holke snap-called. Omerbasic showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} but Holke had him beat with {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} as he had two pair, jacks and sevens. Holke seems to have started well in his quest for another title here in Hamburg.

Meyer Takes One

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

In a four-way limped pot at the end of the previous level, the flop showed {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Dieke Meyer bet 300 from the cutoff which only Serafino Koehne check-called. Both players checked the {2-Spades} turn and Koehne bet the {7-Hearts} river for 450. Meyer quickly called and rolled over {10-Spades}{9-Spades} as winning hand, Koehne mucked.

A few tables over, Wim Verhaegen from Belgium has taken a seat as the field today appears to be more international.
