Alt Chips Up in Showdown Against Cuellar

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Dinesh Alt bet a heads-up turn of {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for 8,500 in the big blind. Diego Cuellar in the cutoff was his only caller and the {4-Clubs} then fell on the river. That ended up killing the action as both players checked. Alt turned over {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for flopped two pair and took down the pot.

Merijn van Rooij

Merijn van Rooij opened to 4,000 in the cutoff and Landon Tice three-bet to 10,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Van Rooij four-bet to 25,000. Tice five-bet shoved all in and Van Rooij called off his stack of 85,000.

Merijn van Rooij: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Landon Tice: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{7-Diamonds} to give both players a pair of aces but Van Rooij held the better kicker. The {6-Diamonds} on the turn and the {2-Hearts} on the river changed nothing as Van Rooij earned a double-up.
