Hershey Makes Quads

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Jacob Hershey opened to 80,000 from middle position and Elia Ahmadian three-bet to 200,000 in the cutoff. Action folded back around to Hershey who called to see a flop.

Hershey checked to Ahmadian following the {4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop and he continued for 125,000. After some thought, Hershey raised to 450,000. Ahmadian then announced he was all in and Hershey quickly called off with the effective stack.

Jacob Hershey: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Elia Ahmadian: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Hershey had outflopped the rockets of Ahmadian to put himself in a great position to secure a full double up. That is exactly what happened after the board ranout {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades} to improve Hershey to quads, leaving Ahmadian desperately short with just 25,000. Ahmadian was able to spin that 25,000 up to 500,000 within the space of a couple hands so is not out of contention yet.

Four-Way All In Ends With Chop Pot

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Shouyi Gao opened to 84,000 from under the gun before James Gilbert moved all in for 755,000 from middle position. Jacob Hershey then re-jammed his larger stack of 985,000 from the cutoff and Elia Ahmadian went into the tank on the button. Eventually he too announced he was all in. The blinds got out of the way and Gao, despite the insane amount of action ahead of him, called off as well.

James Gilbert: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Jacob Hershey: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Elia Ahmadian: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Shouyi Gao: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Somehow all four players had woken up with strong hands. The {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop immediately launched James Gilbert into the lead with nothing changing on the {6-Clubs} turn. The {3-Hearts} river put a straight on the board, sending all the chips back to their original owners and concluding what was certainly the hand of the tournament so far.

Ryan Eriquezzo Eliminated in 18th Place ($12,744)

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Ryan Eriquezzo

Action folded around to Ryan Eriquezzo, who bluffed off a significant portion of his stack to Anthony Lam a few hands ago, in the small blind and he moved all in. James Gilbert quickly called in the big blind with the covering stack to put Eriquezzo at risk.

Ryan Eriquezzo: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
James Gilbert: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Eriquezzo had run right into the rockets of Gilbert and was in terrible shape. There was no miracle runout for Eriquezzo, ending his tournament in 18th place.

Picking up the action on the river, Mark Dickstein on the button was involved in a hand with William Staursky from early position. With the board reading {8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades} Staursky moved all in and was snapped off by Dickstein who tabled {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for the full house to send Staursky to the payout desk in 19th place.

Elsewhere, Vincent Giuliano was eliminated in 21st place.
