"They Know the Dog by Name"

Ray Henson opened to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Judge Leo Boothe out of middle position. Grant Hart was in the hijack and three-bet to 8,500. The small blind then called all in for 8,200 and Henson called the three-bet. Boothe folded and 600 went into the side pot for any further action.

The flop fell {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn came {7-Hearts} and Henson bet 8,000. Hart called and the river fell {a-Clubs}. Henson checked and quickly folded upon a bet of 8,000 from Hart.

"I can't win," said the all-in player, tabling {8-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Hart showed {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a flopped set of tens and took down both the main and side pots.

With the pots, the man formerly learned to be known as "The Cowboy," finds himself above three starting stacks. He affirmed the nickname, adding, "They know the dog by name!"

"Don't Tease Me"

Ray Henson
Ray Henson

Ray Henson opened to 2,500 from middle position to 2,500 and was called by Judge Leo Boothe out of the hijack. The player on the button also called to take action three ways to a flop of {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

Henson fired out a continuation-bet of 4,500 and Boothe looked over to Henson with action upon him. He asked for Henson to move his arms in order to see his stack, which was north of 70,000. He then went into the tank, appearing to be considering a raise. After another 30 seconds, he folded and the player on the button quickly folded behind.

"Don't tease me," said Henson with a slight smile as the pot was sent his way.

"What's that?" asked Boothe.

"Don't tease me!" Henson repeated, citing that Boothe had led him to believe he wanted to play a big pot.

"If I had to guess and my life depended on it, I'd say I folded the best hand," retorted Boothe.

"Nope," affirmed Henson, stacking his chips to no further response from Boothe.

Meanwhile, tablemate James Fricker has amassed a stack of around 141,500 and appears to be one of the big stacks in the room entering the final two hours of play for the flight.

Registration Closed

The start of Level 9 marks the end of the registration period for Flight B, with the tournament clock displaying 145 entries and 65 players remaining, bringing the total to 280 runners over the first two flights with one last heat left to play later this evening.

Play will continue until the end of Level 12 before bagging and tagging for Flight B.

Last Break of Flight B

The remaining 65 players or so are on their last 15-minute break. There are currently 144 entries having registered according to the tournament clock, and registration will remain open until the end of this break.

Upon resuming play, the registration period will close and play will continue for four more levels before all remaining players will bag and tag their chips for the evening.

Flight C will succeed the ceremonial bag 'n' tag, with cards in the air again shortly thereafter at 7 p.m. local time.

Carter Doubles Through Kolb

JW Carter got all in from under the gun with action from JP Kolb, who was on his direct left. The two then turned up their cards and were off to the races.

JW Carter: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
JP Kolb: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The flop {2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts} left Kolb in Carter's dust as he now found his pair of tens firmly behind Carter's flopped pair of aces. The turn {q-Diamonds} and river {9-Diamonds} were of no help to him and he paid off the 30,900 that Carter's stack was totaled to be.

Kolb was left with around 27,000 in his stack after the hand and was eliminated from the tournament a few moments later, appearing to have lost that bit, though he wasted no time re-entering and has taken a new seat at the same table on which he was just playing.

Jones Extends Chip Lead With Triple Knockout

Cedric Jones
Cedric Jones

Several all ins were announced on Table 12 and all the chips were in the middle preflop with three different all ins from Jon Hutchins in early position and players in the cutoff and big blind. Cedric Jones was in middle position and had given everybody action.

Jon Hutchins: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Cutoff: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Big Blind: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Cedric Jones: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

"Yours is coming!" exclaimed tablemate Joey Taylor to Jones on his direct left. He wasn't lying.

The flop fell {4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, prompting Taylor to exclaim that he told Jones as such. Jones then held as the turn {9-Spades} and river {3-Hearts} completed the runout, earning him a triple knockout and launching him well over the 200,000-chip mark with just over 10 minutes left of play in Level 8.

Jones Surging

Cedric Jones
Cedric Jones

Cedric Jones raised to 2,500 from early position over a limp from Joey Taylor, who was on his direct right, and saw action fold around to the cutoff, who called. Action then folded back to Taylor and he put in chips to call to take postflop action three ways.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Taylor checked to Jones, who counted out ten T1,000 chips one by one before putting them into the middle. He quickly received two folds and took down the pot.

Jones has been seen accumulating chips throughout the last two hours or so, but has now recently vaulted to what appears to be a stack of around 164,000 in chips, putting him as the likely chip leader nearing the second and final break of the day.

Hart Flops Top Two, Shows

Stephen Hart opened to 2,600 from early position and received a call from a player in middle position. All remaining players folded and the two went heads up to the flop {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades}. Hart checked and his opponent checked behind.

The turn came {j-Clubs} and Hart threw out a bet of 3,600. His opponent sent his cards to the muck without much hesitation.

Unsatisfied with the response, Hart proved to the table he wasn't lying as he tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a flopped top two pair and raked in the small pot, bringing him over two-and-a-half starting stacks along the way.
