Webster Empties the Clip

Simon Webster
Simon Webster

Simon Webster opened to 6,000 from the cutoff and was called by Raymond Pool, who defended his small blind. The two saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Pool checked. Webster fired a continuation-bet of 5,000 and Pool called.

The turn came {k-Hearts} and Pool checked once again. Webster continued, firing a second barrel for 10,000. Pool tossed out two T5,000 chips to call.

The river fell {6-Diamonds} and Pool checked for a third time. Webster emptied the clip, firing his third barrel for 16,000. Pool thought for a few moments and sent his cards to the muck, resulting in the pot being sent Webster's way.

Koch Cooked by Henson's Flopped Set

Ray Henson
Ray Henson

Ray Henson opened to 4,500 from early position and was three-bet by Russell Koch to 17,000 out of the small blind. Action folded back to Henson and he put in chips to call.

The dealer fanned a flop of {7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Koch shoved for around 60,000. Henson quickly called.

Russell Koch: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Ray Henson: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Henson's flopped top set was way out in front of Koch's overpair of tens. The turn {k-Hearts} and river {3-Spades} kept Henson good and Koch wound up out of chips as a result, with Henson all of a sudden just shy of 200,000 in chips nearing the end of the penultimate level of the flight and now finding himself among the chip leaders with just over 30 minutes left of play in the day.

Another player who has emerged from the field with a six-figure stack is Dennis Baker, who recently took third place after ICM-chopping a preliminary $180 event here at Horseshoe Bossier City.

Big Blind Special for Taylor

Simon Webster opened the action with a raise to 6,000 from the hijack and was three-bet to Joey Taylor from the big blind to 20,000. Webster four-bet all in, effectively putting Taylor all in, and he quickly called.

Joey Taylor: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Simon Webster: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Webster's big-slick had found himself in an unavoidable cooler situation, running into Taylor's aces. He was able to hit a pair on the flop {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Diamonds} to give himself some life, but the tun {6-Spades} and river {8-Diamonds} sealed the chance at a knockout and he paid off Taylor's total of 42,700 as a result, leaving himself with around 42,000 left with which to play with under 40 minutes left in Flight B.

"He Wins Every Time - Cedric the Entertainer!"

Cedric Jones
Cedric Jones

There was around 20,000 in the middle on a flop reading {6-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and players in the big blind and early position checked to Cedric Jones, who was the final player in the hand and sitting in the hijack. Jones fired out a bet of 13,000 and got a fold from the big blind.

Action was then back on the early-position player and he picked up calling chips while looking at the remaining chips in his stack as if he wanted to go all in. He looked up to the dealer and announced just that, exclaiming he was all in. Jones quickly called.

All-In Player: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Cedric Jones: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Jones' opponent had check-shoved with two overcards and was in need of hitting one of them to stay alive versus Jones' top pair. He was unable to do so as the turn {3-Hearts} and river {6-Diamonds} completed the runout, leaving the player with the second-best hand and no further chips left with which to play.

"He wins every time!" exclaimed tablemate Joey Taylor, who has taken a liking to the display that Jones has put on throughout most of the flight. "Cedric the Entertainer!"

Jones raked in the pot and Taylor continued to talk to him. "Ced," he said. "Ced!" Taylor said once more, seeing Jones look up. "I never doubted you!"

Fricker Toasts An Opponent

James Fricker
James Fricker

Ray Henson was under the gun and opened the action with a raise to 4,300. James Fricker called from early position on Henson's direct left and action then folded around to the small blind, who also called. The big blind then announced he was all in and Henson quickly folded. Fricker made the call and the small blind folded, leaving two standing to turn up their cards for the runout.

"You've got me," said the big blind, tabling {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Fricker showed {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}, which was indeed ahead for the time being.

The flop fell {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, putting Fricker even further out in front. He was in need of fading running cards in order to score the knockout. The turn came {j-Spades}, leaving him with just two cards in the deck that would spoil his pending earnings. The river complied with his needs, coming {8-Clubs} to leave his pair of queens best en route to the elimination and the pot, bringing him near 200,000 in chips in the process.

Jones Dusts Hart

Stephen Hart
Stephen Hart

Cedric Jones limped in from middle position and action folded around to the small blind, who completed. Stephen Hart then raised to 16,200 from the big blind. Jones thought for a bit, assessing the situation and his opponents' stacks.

"I've got 36.9 (thousand) back," offered Hart. Jones obliged, putting in chips to call before the small blind got out of their way. The flop fell {7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

"I'm all in," said Hart.

"Call," Jones replied immediately.

Stephen Hart: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Cedric Jones: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Jones had flopped a set and gotten the rest of the chips in the middle with a commanding lead, needing to fade running straight outs as well as the two remaining nines in the deck. The turn {q-Clubs} gave him a sweat, but the river {4-Clubs} fell clean to score the knockout.

Jones had appeared to have surrendered some of his chips before, but now is firmly above 200,000 again with less than two hours left to play in the day.

Saleh Pushes Out Opponents

Yousef Saleh raised to 4,600 from the cutoff over under-the-gun and hijack limpers and received two calls in return. The flop fell {2-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and action checked to Saleh, who made a continuation-bet of 7,000. Both players called again.

The turn came {k-Diamonds} and action checked to Saleh again. He continued, putting out two T5,000 chips and a 20-tall stack of T1,000 chips to go along with it. The dealer cut out the stack and confirmed the total bet of 30,000, sending the first limper into the tank. He thought for close to a minute, being put to a decision for the majority of his chips, and ultimately folded. The second limper folded behind without any further deliberation and Saleh took down the pot.
