Updated Schedule Announcement

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Horseshoe Council Bluffs
Horseshoe Council Bluffs

The floor has just announced that play will continue upon the end of Level 12, now scheduled to stop at around six minutes remaining in Level 13 or when 40 players remain, whichever comes first.

Also, the scheduled 6 p.m. Day 1c flight has been pushed back to 6:30 p.m. to accommodate for the extended schedule.

Thomas Building Piles

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

There was a pile of chips in the middle on a board reading {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} with heads-up action between Daniel Thomas in the big blind and an opponent in early position.

Thomas bet 15,000 and his opponent jammed for a little more than a qualifying raise. Thomas called.

"Do you have the flush?" asked Thomas's opponent as he turned over {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Unfortunately for the player, he wound up being in even worse shape than if he were up against a flush as Thomas turned over {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a turned set of nines. The case four did not come on the river {3-Clubs} and Thomas collected the pot and the knockout, bringing him over a quarter-million in the process and making him the chip leader in the field with less than 90 players now remaining.

Polak Flops Three Threes

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Matt Polak was in the big blind and defended versus an early-position open. Both players checked the flop {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Polak bet 5,000. His opponent called, and Polak threw out another 5,000 on the river {j-Hearts}.

Polak's opponent let out an audible sigh and then took a handful of seconds to meekly toss a chip onto the felt. Polak showed {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and the player became visibly frustrated, flashing {j-Diamonds} as he threw his cards to the muck and complaining about Polak having hit numerous boards on the day.

No Longer Seen in the Room

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

McKee Gets a Stack

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Vicki McKee limped in early position and saw the hijack go all in for 7,500. Action folded back to her and she made the call.

All-In Player: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
McKee: {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The all-in player's slim chances at staying alive were crushed on the flop {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Spades}, leaving him in need of running aces or running jacks to earn a chop, and that would not be in his forecast as running {3-Spades}{6-Clubs} completed the board to earn McKee the pot and knockout with her trip eights.

Frenzel Spotted

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Brian Frenzel in Day 1a action
Brian Frenzel in Day 1a action

After busting yesterday's Day 1a, Event #2 Champion ($135 Pro Bounty) Brian Frenzel was just seen in the field with action folding to him on the button. He opened to 2,500 and both blinds called.

Action checked through the flop {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the turn came {7-Hearts}. Both blinds checked once more, with Frenzel asking the big blind if he had checked. Upon receiving confirmation, Frenzel bet 4,000.

However, the dealer misunderstood Frenzel's question as a verbal announcement of a check and brought a premature {7-Hearts} to complete the board before looking up and seeing chips on the felt. The inevitable floor call was to made once everybody involved clarified the situation, but it proved to be unnecessary as both blinds opted to fold after knowing Frenzel's intention.
