Chatman Races Crowley to the Rail

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Joseph Crowley
Joseph Crowley

Joe Crowley moved all in for 105,000 in the hijack and Christopher Chatman called in the big blind.

Joe Crowley: AK All in
Christopher Chatman: 99

Crowley failed to connect with the 633 flop, while the turn was the 6. "King of diamonds," he pleaded, but instead the 9 fell on the river to give Chatman a full house and send Crowley to the rail.

Davey Calls Down Against Venkatesan

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Kieran Davey
Kieran Davey

Heads-up on a board of Q43J, Kade Venkatesan bet 31,000 from middle position and Kieran Davey called on the button.

The river was the 5 and Venkatesan checked over to Davey who bet 55,000. Venkatesan then moved all in, and Davey took a minute before calling for his last 150,000.

Venkatesan showed J10 for a pair of jacks, and Davey tossed his cards into the muck and made his exit.

Rob Gardner was also eliminated at another table.

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Zach Kates was all in for 80,000 from the cutoff, Kieran Davey put in his last 110,000 in the big blind, and Kash Corpening had both players covered and at risk in the small blind.

Zach Kates: AJ All in
Kieran Davey: AK All in
Kash Corpening: QQ

Corpening was ahead with his queens and poised for the double knockout, but the A4J flop gave Kates two pair and the lead. The rest of the board ran out 88 and he tripled up, while Davey took the side pot off Corpening.

Eisenberg Has One Foot Out the Door

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Lara Eisenberg three-bet to 35,000 in middle position before Kieran Davey moved all in from under the gun. Eisenberg took a minute and eventually called for her last 110,000.

Lara Eisenberg: 77 All in
Kieran Davey: 1010

"Good luck, everyone," Eisenberg said, immediately grabbing her stuff and walking away from the table as the flop came 10J5 to give Davey a set. The board ran out K8.

"Hey Lara, you win. You made a flush," tablemate William Beer called out to her, and Eisenberg returned to the table and accepted her double up.

"This is cheating," George Karmires joked from another table.

Nicholas Rigby Among 33 Players Chasing the Title on Day 2 of the RGPS Grand Prix Maryland Main Event

Nicholas Rigby
Nicholas Rigby

Nicholas Rigby doesn’t have to go back too far to remember what it feels like to win a RunGood Poker Series Main Event ring.

The Pennsylvania native, who shot to fame with his aggressive style and “Dirty Diaper” favorite hand of three-deuce, won the RGPS Grand Prix Southern Indiana Main Event back in August, one of three rings he’s won just over the last year. Rigby is back at it this week at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill and is among 33 players who return for Day 2 of the $1,700 RGPS Grand Prix Maryland Main Event at 12:15 p.m. local time.

Rigby begins the day in fourth chip position with 561,500. He’s looking up at chip leader Roy Kim (925,000), while Justin Arnwine (801,000), Hamid Izadi (722,000), and Kai Nicholls (543,000) round out the top five.

Further down the leaderboard are Joe Crowley (135,000) and Lara Eisenberg (125,000).

The action on Day 2 picks up with seven minutes remaining in Level 15 with blinds of 3,000/6,000 and a 6,000 big blind ante. Levels will be extended to 50 minutes at the start, then go to 60 minutes once the final table is reached.

The event drew a total of 251 entries over three starting flights, building a prize pool of $384,030. The official list of payouts should be announced shortly after the start of play.

The Main Event ring awaits one lucky player today, and PokerNews will be following the action all the way to the final table and onwards to the crowning of a champion.
