Barbara Lanese topped the Day 1b with a stack of 436,000 and finished with the second biggest stack out of any player from Day 1bc.
Lanese lives in the San Diego area and has been a regular player at Jamul Casino. Lanese stated she has been playing poker for 25 years and shared with PokerNews that she enjoys the social aspect of the game.
Lanese topped the leaderboards after she watched her stack grow when she scored two knockouts during Level 9 and 10, respectively, to vault past the 400,000 mark. Lanese never wavered from that point forward as she maneuvered through the field the rest of the way to bag as the Day 1b chip leader.
Lanese was glad to advance to Day 2 and had a respectful outlook towards her opponents and the game.
“I’m very excited,” Lanese said. “I’m just respectful of all the players, and I’m glad to be returning tomorrow.”
Rounding out the top three is Jeff Burquist, who amassed a stack of 402,000. Like Medina, Burquist is also looking to surpass his career earnings with a deep run. His highest finish until this point came in February of 2024 when he finished 32nd in the RGPS Destination RunGood Main Event.
Day 2 is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. local time. The remaining players will play down to a winner. Check back here at PokerNews for updates on Day 2 action and the crowning of a new RunGood Main Event champion.

Aiden Behr took a stand with an all-in for 118,000 from the cutoff. Beau Boasythong made the call from the small blind to put Behr at risk.
Aiden Behr: A♥4♥
Beau Boasythong: J♠J♥
Boasythong needed to fade the ace and hearts. The flop, however, gave Behr something to work with as it fanned out 6♦5♦2♦ to give Behr a straight draw.
The 6♥ turn and the Q♥ river did not give Behr any help as Boasythong secured the knockout to end Day 1b and sent the remaining 17 players to Day 2.
Stay tuned here at PokerNews for a recap of Day 1b.
