Day 1b Completed
The final 16 players on Day 1b of the RunGood Poker Series Golden Expedition Jacksonville $1,200 Main Event headed off on a break as the clock went past midnight, still two spots away from the money. As soon as they returned, Josh Adkins sent a shockwave through the room.
Adkins was faced with a massive all-in shove on the turn against Igor Tretyakov. He ended up tanking for nearly 10 minutes before calling with two pair and a flush draw. Tretyakov could only show ace-high, and when the river came out safe for Adkins, the WPT champion had earned the double up that rocketed him up into contention for the top stack.
Adkins ended up with 551,000, but he and the rest of the field are looking up at Phuong Ta atop the leaderboard. Ta finished off Tretyakov with a set of sixes to burst the money bubble as he finished with 690,000 and the overall chip lead over the 14 players who survived the day.

Other players advancing include John O’Neal (206,000), Edward Mroczkowski (144,000), and 2023 champion Antwan Prince (127,000), while Shannon Scalice joined her husband Mike in making it to Day 2 with 85,000.
Christina Gollins was the lone RunGood ambassador to take a shot at the ring and $300,000 guaranteed prize pool today, but her run was cut short in a hand against Thomas Burkett. Caleb Powell, Kelley Slay, and Leif Force were also among those sent to the rail today.
The 108 entries on Day 1b brought the total field up to 252 through two starting flights. There is still Day 1c tomorrow at noon local time, when another big field is expected to pack into the bestbet Jacksonville poker room. All surviving players then return for Day 2 on November 1 at noon, with the action picking up at the earliest finishing time from one of the starting flights. Day 1b went into Level 16 and past yesterday’s opening flight end time, which came with four minutes remaining in Level 15 with blinds of 3,000/5,000 and a 5,000 big blind.
PokerNews will be back tomorrow as players get one final shot at the championship ring on Day 1c, so be sure to return for all the updates.
Phuong Ta limped in from early position, then called when Igor Tretyakov moved all in for his last 14,000 in the hijack.
Igor Tretyakov: A♥Q♥
Phuong Ta: 6♦6♥
Ta remained in the lead on the K♠9♣5♦ flop, while the 6♣ turn gave him a set and left Tretyakov drawing dead. The river was the 2♠, and Tretyakov was eliminated on the money bubble.
The remaining 14 players are bagging up their chips for the night.
Ben Scroggins was recently sent to the rail, bringing the field down to 15 players.
Action is going hand-for-hand until there is one more elimination.
Josh Adkins raised to 12,000 in middle position, Igor Tretyakov three-bet to 60,000 in the small blind, and Adkins called.
The flop came 10♣2♣2♦ and Tretyakov bet 30,000. Adkins called, and the J♣ fell on the turn. Tretyakov then moved all in.
Adkins went deep into the tank, taking nearly 10 minutes to consider the decision. Several players from the other table began crowding around to watch, and Adkins eventually called for 180,000. Tretyakov showed A♠K♦, while Adkins had A♣10♦ for two pair and a flush draw.
The river was the A♦, and Adkins held on to earn the massive double up and leave Tretyakov on an extreme short stack.
Level: 16
Blinds: 3,000/6,000
Ante: 6,000
The remaining 16 players are going on a 15-minute break.
John O'Neal bet 15,000 from the hijack on a flop of 4♣9♠5♣ and Ricky Patel called on the button.
O'Neal bet another 33,000 on the Q♦ turn, and Patel again called. O'Neal checked the 3♣ river, and Patel slid forward a tower of his grey 5,000 chips. O'Neal instantly folded.
