Ducks Hold for Barlow

Level 12 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 2,000 ante
Michael Barlow
Michael Barlow

Michael Barlow limped from the cutoff before Nicholas Rigby made it 25,000 on the button. Barlow showed for 73,000 total, and Rigby called and put Barlow at risk.

Michael Barlow: 2♠2♥All in
Nicholas Rigby: A♣6♣

Barlow held the slight edge preflop as they went to a showdown.

The 5♠7♥10♠ flop kept Barlow ahead, as Rigby was given little to work with on that flop.

Barlow held on the J♦ turn and the 5♣ river to score the double-up.

Ndoja Shows Della Volpe the Bluff

Level 12 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 2,000 ante
Antonio Ndoja
Antonio Ndoja

James Bucaro began the action with an open to 8,000 from under the gun. Thomas Della Volpe called from the next seat over before Antonio Ndoja three-bet to 30,000 on the button. Bucaro folded, but Della Volpe made the call.

The 5♠7♦2♥ flop resulted in a check from Della Volpe. Ndoja fired 15,000 and was called.

Both players slowed with a check on the 4♠ turn, bringing the J♦ river.

Della Volpe checked before Ndoja opted to shove on the river. Della Volpe would have been at risk should he have made the call, but that did not come to pass as he mucked the river.

"Do you want to see it?" asked Ndoja.

"Sure," said Della Volpe.

Ndoja rolled over K♥8♥ for king-high as he took down the pot.

Loss Leads to Alcorn's Demise

Level 12 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 2,000 ante
Heather Alcorn
Heather Alcorn

Heather Alcorn and Ruslan Zakharchuk clashed preflop, with Zakharchuk at risk for 15,000.

Ruslan Zakharchuk: A♥2♥All in
Heather Alcorn: K♠J♥

Zakharchuk had the best of it, and the flop did not alter that when it came 3♦4♦Q♦ to keep him in the lead.

The 9♥ turn gave Alcorn a gutshot, but it was not meant to be on the 8♣ river, as Zakharchuk secured the double.

Alcorn was left with only 6,000 behind and went all-in the next hand. Unfortunately for Alcorn, that was the end of the road for the RGPS Ambassador as she failed to win the showdown to be eliminated from Day 1a.

Rigby Takes Chunk from Hughes

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 1,500 ante
Nick Rigby
Nick Rigby

Nicholas Rigby opened to 6,000 from the cutoff. Daniel Hughes called from the small blind, and Ruslan Zakharchuk defended his big blind to create a three-handed pot preflop.

The 2♠Q♣4♣ flop was checked by all three players, bringing the J♣ turn. Both blinds checked again before Rigby fired 10,000. Hughes called, but Zakharchuk folded.

Hughes checked the K♣ river. Rigby bet 15,000, but Hughes countered with a check-raise to 40,000. Rigby tossed in a call.

Hughes showed J♦8♦ for a pair of jacks, but it was no good as Rigby tabled 9♣8♣ for a flush.

Banhidy Wins Skirmish Versus Luban

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 1,500 ante
Penelope Banhidy
Penelope Banhidy

Nicholas Luban began the bidding with a raise to 6,000 on the button. Penelope Banhidy and Brent Wheeler called out of the small and big blind, respectively.

The Q♥K♥K♣ flop was checked by both blinds. Luban continued for 6,000. Banhidy called, and Wheeler folded.

Banhidy took the initiative with a wager of 10,000 on the 10♦ turn. Luban did not think long before he tossed his cards towards the middle as Banhidy collected the chips.

Hughes Shows Carbone the Exit

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 1,500 ante
Daniel Hughes
Daniel Hughes

This hand was picked up on the turn of a board that read A♦J♦2♠K♥ of a pot that built to over 50,000.

Anthony Carbone checked his option from early position before Daniel Hughes fired 10,000 from the hijack. Carbone called.

The 9♥ river led to another check from Carbone. Hughes announced all-in. Carbone called and put himself at risk for 23,000.

Hughes showed A♠K♦ for two pair. Carbone could not beat it, as he tossed his cards in the muck and got up from his seat.

Della Volpe with Double Knockout

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 1,000 ante
Thomas Della Volpe
Thomas Della Volpe

The chips were flying around preflop as Nicholas Rigby was all-in and at-risk. Jeffrey Smith also shoved and was at risk after Thomas Della Volpe called.

Nicholas Rigby: J♠7♥All in
Jeffrey Smith: K♥K♦All in
Thomas Della Volpe: 7♣7♦

Della Volpe had the chance to notch a double knockout. Smith had the best chances to win the pot as he was ahead with his pocket kings, and his chances were a little higher due to the fact that Rigby and Della Volpe were blocking each other's sevens.

That did not matter one bit, as the first card in the window was a seven when the flop fanned out 7♠5♦6♣ to upgrade Della Volpe to a set of sevens and the best hand.

The 10♦ turn was of no use to Smith or Rigby.

Della Volpe would hold when the 2♥ hit the river, as Smith and Rigby were both eliminated. Rigby would rebuy with a fresh starting stack of 40,000.

Banhidy Pounces on River

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 1,000 ante
Penelope Banhidy
Penelope Banhidy

Dionta James got it going with an open to 6,000 from early position. Nicholas Luban called from the hijack before Penelope Banhidy joined with a call from the cutoff.

James continued for 9,000 on the 4♠Q♠6♣ flop. Luban folded, but Banhidy made the call.

Both players checked the 9♠ turn.

James bet 23,500 on the A♦ river before Banhidy went all-in for 18,500 more. James gave it a brief consideration before he made the fold as Banhidy took down the healthy pot on the river without a showdown.
