Phillip Gambrell was down to his last 10,000 when he got in his stack from middle position. Jimmy Litton put him at risk in the cutoff.

Gambrell remained in the lead on the 3♥3♣10♠ flop, but Litton hit the Q♠ on the turn to make two pair. The river was the K♥, and Gambrell was sent to the rail after flirting with the chip lead earlier in the day.
In a battle between the blinds, Mike Chilton led out for 7,000 on a board of 8♥4♠6♥6♠ and Craig Welko raised to 22,000. Chilton called, and the J♠ fell on the river.
Welko then bet 30,000, and Chilton quickly called. Chilton turned over K♣K♠, and Welko mucked.
"Every time I call him, it's set, set, set," another tablemate said.
Raymond Cushing bet 6,000 from the button on a flop of A♦9♥4♣ and Dale Stafford called in middle position.
Both players checked the 2♠ turn. Stafford then moved all in for 15,400 on the 5♦ river, and Cushing took about 30 minutes before calling.
Stafford then turned over 4♦4♣ for a set. "I thought you didn't have the ace," Cushing said as he mucked Q♦Q♣ and paid off the double up.

Matt Vaughan had just taken his seat in the tournament when he got in his 30,000 from the hijack. Another opponent in the cutoff also put in his last 2,500, while Alan Percal in middle position had both players covered and at risk.

The board ran out 6♥J♦9♦J♥2♣, and Vaughan's pair of tens stayed in the lead to earn him the pot. The cutoff was sent to the rail, while Vaughan doubled up off Percal.
Libby Wilson had a raise of 6,000 in front of her from the hijack before Greg McCurry reraised to 17,000 in the cutoff. James Lyle then moved all in from early position and Wilson folded, while McCurry called for 47,000.

McCurry had Lyle crushed with his kings, and the board ran out A♦6♠7♥4♥6♥ to earn him the pot and the double up.
Craig Welko, Mike Chilton, and another opponent saw the turn on a board of 3♣7♦6♦10♠ when Welko bet 15,000 from middle position. The button called, as did Chilton under the gun.
The river was the J♥ and Welko bet 25,000. The button again called, while Chilton got out of the way. Welko turned over 3♥3♠ for a set, and his opponent tossed A♦J♦ into the muck.
Truth Sublime and Mike Chilton were tangling in another pot as they went heads-up to a flop of 6♣A♥3♠. Sublime then bet 8,000 from the button, and Chilton called in the hijack.
Both players checked the 3♣ turn. Chilton then led out for 12,000 on the Q♠ river, and Sublime snap-called.
Chilton showed A♥9♠ for top pair, and Sublime flashed two kings as he mucked.
