Ritchie was ahead with his aces, but Mai had the flush draw with two cards to go.
Mai did not have to wait long as he spiked his flush on the turn when the 6♣ peeled. However, Ritchie was not down and out as another club would give him a higher flush to double up.
Unfortunately for Ritchie, the river was a red card as the 4♦ peeled to eliminate Ritchie on the bubble.

Wagar needed some help to stay in contention, but the flop brought no relief when it came 2♦8♣3♠ to keep Kashiwagi in the lead.
The A♥ was of no relevance to Wagar as he was down to six outs with one card left.
Wagar would see the final card of his tournament when the 10♣ hit the river to eliminate him from Day 1d.

Ariah Nead got it in for 70,000 against Erle Mankin as Nead was at risk for his tournament life.

It appeared to be the end of the road for Nead as Mankin had a significant edge as they went to a flop.
That changed in a hurry when the flop came 7♠Q♠4♠ to give Nead a set of fours. Mankin was far from out of it as he held a spade for a flush draw.
Mankin retook the lead when the K♠ hit the turn to hit a flush.
The hand would see a third lead change when the K♦ hit the river to improve Nead to a full house to keep his tournament hopes alive late on Day 1d.
